Thoughts On HEDD Audio?

Neumann KH 310 and KH750 sub. Love them but couldn’t have them without the sub.

I improved my monitoring situation, mixing is way easier and now I’m finding most plugins useless.

I had the 01’s for a few years. I was in a space that had low end problems and I thought it would be best to go with something that didn’t need a sub. They were great to work on, I loved listening to them and I really appreciated the feature that makes them kinda sound like NS10s bc I didn’t have sp

KH80s are amazing speakers at their size but are by no means enough on their own or without a sub for professional mixing and mastering. As a secondary alternate pair to a larger speaker there’s few choices better than kh80’s. But on their own, sorry they are not going to expose details in a mix lik

Can you guess the style of music I make from this picture?

i'd do some simple, basic acoustic treatment first. then, and only then, look at better monitors than a7x. a good, linear listening enviroment is a combo of good acoustic and good monitoring. throwing money at monitoring only - is a waste. and most frequent amateur mistake. to keep it affordable, i'

Upgrading to a more serious pair of monitors

If you measured the room using a measuring mic and REW, it would have shown you any room modal frequencies. If you said it was okayish, what was the reasoning behind the bass traps? Bass traps are precisely for reducing standing waves produced by the largest dimension of the room (4.7m in this insta

Upgrading to a more serious pair of monitors

Most subs don't give accurate low-end response. And he doesn't need to compromise if he is considering neumann kh310. He definitely has an accurate low-end response. You won't get transient response clarity with a sub when compared to the neumanns. As I said, if he has the budget for those, any moni

Upgrading to a more serious pair of monitors

Here I disgaree. It's simply a law of physics that you need a large driver size to accurately produce low frequencies. This includes timing and phase, too, not just frquencies. This is also true for subwoofers. Whether it be 10 or 12 inches, you still have the problem of not truly being able to prod

New Monitoring setup

FWIW, I just swapped the KSDs in for my neumann kh310 + sub and they’re awesome. Much clearer low end compared to the Neumanns and more extension in both directions. They are seriously incredible for the price, albeit not for everyone’s tastes. I do recommending getting the remote ($1000!) because t

Speakers recommendation.

Since you’re not going with subs I reckon bookshelves that have to go low till 35hz. I’d say a neumann kh150 but it’s 34.5 cm tall. In that case a kh310 will fit in better. There’s also the genelec 8351 at an even higher budget and you can lay them sideways since they’re coaxials. These are all acti

studio monitors

Neumann are a bit undersized and underpowered for sealed so low end has fairly high thd In general sealed have more thd than ported, but the kh310 have that especially pronounced
