Have you been having frequent Spectrum internet outages?

I would suggest either the Asus RT-BE96U if you can get by with a single device (if the modem will be located in the middle of your home and you are at about no larger than 2,000 square feet), or the Netgear Orbi 770 series if your space is larger and/or the modem is in the far corner of the home wh

Aging router upgrade advice

I setup a netgear orbi mesh system at my uncles house dual story about 3500sq/f. 1 router and 2 orbi dishes its a great system and its been running at my uncles since 2013 and still working great. We get service to his mailbox and all his barns around his farm. https://www.netgear.com/home/wifi/mesh

After a full hardware failure of our current router —and downgrading to our past one— my parents have accepted the need for an upgrade. What routers do you guys run? Any suggestions?

I’ve been using Netgear Orbi mesh for years. Expensive but works fantastic. I have a base and two satellites. Reception in my 1963 home is horrid without mesh. While Ethernet backhaul would be ideal, Orbi has a dedicated WiFi backhaul and it is very fast.

Looking for a change

Can't go wrong with Zen - been through all the usual suspects, BT, Virgin, Sky, TalkTalk and it's always been a shit show fighting over not getting advertised speeds or price hikes that are eye watering. I moved to Zen last year and honestly feels like the first time since I've actually stopped thin

What router should I get?

You probably want a mesh router. This means that there are two or three routers in a pack that all connect to one another automatically to keep your signal boosted. Go with TP Link Deco or Netgear Orbi 770.

Does the access point's uplink speed matter in a real-world residential setting?

No, I see people here bashing on Mesh APs. I used an Orbi Mesh system for 10 years. I have 48 devices on my network and a 400Mb Xfinity service. Those Mesh APs provided 100% of that ISP throughput even at the perimeters of the covered area. So to answer your question no in a residential setting the

Need wireless mesh router recommendations

I love my my Netgear Orbi RBR40 (AC2200) it is a tri-band Wi-Fi 5 mesh router designed for medium-to-large homes, offering up to 4,000 sq ft of coverage when paired with satellites. I have 2 satellites One on the 1st floor & One in the basement. I've had it for years*... and the plaster & lath walls
