What do you want us to build next? (A switch is already coming…)

Netgear just EOL'd my Orbi AC3000 – any recommendations?

The only downside of keep using the current Orbi system is lack of security updates. If that is the reason, I think buying a newest, stand-alone Netgear router as your gateway, and wire your existing Orbi network to it. You can keep the AC3000 network settings on ur devices. It’s even better if the n

Plz recommend between Orbi 870, 970 or Eero Max 7

I’ve been a netgear orbi user for the better part of a decade. RBK52 and RBK852. Just switched away this week. The orbi can be a good consumer level mesh system with strong radios that push signal far. And it will work well, for some time. The orbi’s issues are netgear and their firmware. At least o

Have you been having frequent Spectrum internet outages?

I would suggest either the Asus RT-BE96U if you can get by with a single device (if the modem will be located in the middle of your home and you are at about no larger than 2,000 square feet), or the Netgear Orbi 770 series if your space is larger and/or the modem is in the far corner of the home wh

Terrible Internet

I had this issue with Vodafone routers back in the day. The quality and reliability of their kit was terrible for all but the most simple use cases. First suggestion would be to disconnect the boosters. Whilst your range or speed might not be as good. Do your devices stay connected longer, or do you

We get service to his mailbox and all his barns around his farm. https://www.netgear.com/home/wifi/mesh

Bad connection through long ethernet cable

I'll assume your Macbook has a wifi adapter. If so, get an inexpensive wifi AP hook it to the ethernet cable and you should have a connection. You also would have the flexibility to move the MacBook around a bit. You might lose a bit of bandwidth but not much. I move back and forth from a wired to w

After a full hardware failure of our current router —and downgrading to our past one— my parents have accepted the need for an upgrade. What routers do you guys run? Any suggestions?

I’ve been using Netgear Orbi mesh for years. Expensive but works fantastic. I have a base and two satellites. Reception in my 1963 home is horrid without mesh. While Ethernet backhaul would be ideal, Orbi has a dedicated WiFi backhaul and it is very fast.
