2026 Year of Steam OS on Mini PCs

I've already been running SteamOS (Valve's own image) on my Minisforum UM773 Lite. Works like a dream, even detected the 4TB SATA SSD and uses it for game storage without a single issue.

is Minisforum small formfactor PCs any good with Linux ?

I have two Minisforum PCs. I have a UM773 Lite that I bought over two years ago for my work and a UM890 Pro that I bought a year ago for my home. I bought both as barebones models and installed a Ubuntu based distro on them. I have had no major issues with either of them.

For those who installed SteamOS on other handhelds, does it feels as good as on the Steam Deck OLED or is it always "quite but not really" ? Or maybe is it better ?

Does installing it on a Minisforum minipc count? I flashed the stock Valve SteamOS image onto a UM773 Lite and it works surprisingly well. No hiccups or glitches, full performance. I even got 30+FPS steady at 4k playing Cyberpunk, which is fairly impressive on integrated graphics.

Is installing SteamOS against any ToS

I've got a miniPC (Minisforum UM773 Lite) with a 4TB SATA SSD in it in addition to the 1TB nvme drive and SteamOS has no problem whatsoever with it.
