MS-A1

It doesn't look like the MS-A1 has any SFP+ ports, so I wouldn't consider it a replacement in the context of OPNSense.

I'm looking at models like the MS-A1, it has oculink built in, but you lose thunderbolt, that's the tradeoff. And oculink wasn't really built for this purpose, like running external GPU cards in a dock.

Are you running any Linux distro? I have read some issues with the MS-A1 Pro, like bluetooth and audio Jack problems.

I like my 4 ms01's, each with two sk-hynix 2tb ssd's that stay nice and cool, and I use the thunderbolt interfaces for egpu's for transcoding. I was eager for the amd version because I want ECC ram, but unfortunately the ms-a1's not only lack ECC, but they also lack thunderbolt. I have zero interest
