Recommendation for Proxmox Server

Minisforum MS-01 Why this over the MS-A2? This has intel iGPU great for plex emby etc. Also you can use SR-IOV and slice the iGPU up and pass a slices to different VMs. You can do this with the AMD iGPU. I this box you get 3xNVMe 2xSFP+ Low profile PCIe slot (great for small gpu or HBA and run a who

Comunitate homelab romania

Are you self-hosting LLMs in your 10-inch racks? Looking for hardware & model advice!

running an llm in a 10-inch rack is a fun challenge. you're gonna want as much vram as you can fit. for that size, something like a Minisforum MS-01 with a decent gpu could work, though fitting a full-size card is tough. i've seen people have good luck with qwen 2.5 7b or 14b models - they run decen

Advice needed for Ultimate Cloud Gaming Setup (4K @ 120Hz) - Mini PC Hardware + 10Gb Home Networking

The GeForce now network requirements are quite modest. I don’t think you need to upgrade anything but run cat6 if you want to enjoy 10Gb for downloading other things. You’ll need to upgrade any network switches and clients if you want to have full 10Gb. I recommend Unifi network equipment. For a com

Is a base M4 Mac Mini for a Plex server a waste of money? Or even crazier, the Gabe Cube?

If you're gonna splurge anyway, get the minisforum ms-01. It's not that much bigger and you get 4 Intel nics, with 2 of them being 10gbit sfp+ ports, 3 nvme slots and a pcie slot.

Migrating to more power efficient mini PCs

i get wanting to cut that power draw down. the dell i7s can be thirsty for sure. something like a Beelink or Minisforum with a newer mobile chip would be a solid swap. the Beelink SER8 or Minisforum MS-01 idle well under 20w but still have the performance to handle OnlyOffice. waiting for panther la

What free software is so good you can't believe it's free?

Yeah, so much mileage out of still-good, but older hardware!! I like running an Ubuntu VM with Docker in Proxmox. One of my favorite business builds: Minisforum MS-01 i9 barebones (~$650 USD) 128GB RAM (used to be $500 lol) 3x 8TB NVMe SSD's (used to be $800 lol) @ 2x ZFS mirror boot + 1x replicatio

Help with new build

Minisforum MS-01 are what I use for home servers. They are extremely flexible - 3x M.2 SSD or U.2, up to 128GB RAM, Intel up to i9, a x16(x8) PCIe slot, 2x 2.5G and 2x 10G networking. I replaced the wifi with a Coral and that's what I'm currently using for inferencing with 8x 4k cameras. I need to f

Lenovo ThinkCentre M920x worth it in 2025, or better to go GMKtec / Beelink?

You already explored business oriented type (ThinkCentre) Mini, I will skip that part. Since you don't need 2.5" / 3.5"SATA and great GPU performance, that's a good fit for for cube size Mini PC which predominantly what this sub is about. You can get an AMD 7940HS / 8845HS Mini PC, easily double the

Advice for 1U rack mount computer to act as local Unifi Dashboard+

A Windows app ups the cpu and memory requirements much more than Linux based services. I’m not sure what you mean by running a Unifi dashboard as there really isn’t a specific service that you have to run, unless you’re referring to running the Network app. All of this can be accomplished on a mini
