96GB DDR5 SODIMM x4
I ran across two unopened sets of these when cleaning my computer room. I have a 6 node Proxmox cluster and originally was going to go with 96gb kits, but then the 128gb kits came out and I went with those. I also have boatloads of NVMe drives that are unopened as well. I wish I could still the the

What was your first server like compared your current setup? What were the biggest changes you wish you'd done sooner?
Wow I had almost the same thing - from 2019 to about 2024 I had an Nvidia Shield Pro with 2 external drives (4tb each), one for movies one for tv shows. I really didn’t end up using it all that much because it just didn’t work great, I’d kept having to reinstall the PMS app because things were buggy

Just priced out a Dell server I purchased in Jan. 2024 and the price went up 85.7%
Insane. Even buying last gen refurbished is starting to go through the roof. I'm starting to wonder if buying a cluster of 6 smallish small form factor computers for $1200 each rather than one expensive server isn't the way to go. With a bunch of NanoKVMs you even get remote console and power cycle.

NFS+mergerfs+qbittorrent
Must be some issues with your setup / NFS server. I used to seed 4500 Torrents with r torrent over an 150 TB NFS share (8 * 20 tb USB 10 Gbit Attached to an Minisforum ms-01 with 10 Gbit Connection, clients are connected via 2.5 Gbit) no issues, 250 mb/s + transfer rate. The TCP overhead is so ridic

Anyone experience connection issues with the Beelink S12 Pro Mini PC & the Terramaster D6-320?
I ended up finding a Minisforum MS-01 with the i5-12600H locally for super cheap and it works great! The Terramaster is connected to the USB port and everything is good so far. All I did to upgrade was move my nvme drives over and connected my USB devices (and turned off Secure Boot) and everything

Anyone using Unraid as a server, but not a NAS?
I have a Minisforum MS-01 for Unraid and too much of the UniFi system including the NAS where I store all my movies and shows. So far the only issue I’ve had is my connection breaking once as it went from //UNAS-PRO to PRO-2 for some reason I’ve yet to figure out. I also have a 2nd or actually first

Asking advice from the experts!
Look at a minisforum MS-01/02. 2x 10gbit sfp, and 2x 2.5 gbit utp. Just replace battery when it stop starting up, and upgrade bios immediately. The speed is very good. I run proxmox on it, and opnsense is virtual. Just perfect small little system.

Fun weekend project: DIY updated AI with DeepVideo
Access permissions can be tricky too! My demo box was 150 AD users with 3 million sample files. Runs great on a GPU-equipped Minisforum MS-01! The open-source options are pretty incredible these days: https://imgur.com/a/fPXBR7v In more detail: https://www.reddit.com/r/Rag/comments/1shqrwv/comment/o

What hardware do you run frigate on?
Bare metal Debian docker. Minisforum MS-01 with dual coral on a PCI adapter card. By far the most stable and easy to configure Frigate setup I’ve had… and I’ve had a few at this point. I do miss proxmox snapshots. But that’s a small price to pay for this stability.
