Mini PC Recommendations for 4K Video Editing

With RAMpocalypse/RAMageddon 4K video editing with DaVinci Resolve on Windows 11 and a $700 budget isn't realistic. For 4K editing NVIDIA RTX 3060 or AMD RX 6700 is highly recommended as a starting point. Basically you're looking for 8GB of VRAM on a graphics card with a PassMark score of 16K+. A sy

High end recommendation

What's your budget? Price no object, you could get one those AI Max + AMD systems with the 8060s iGPU that's close to RTX 3060 performance. Soldered in super fast ram makes it possible, but also means no ram upgrades. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F53QXNGH?lv=shuf&channelId=500&plpRedirect=mhFallback&

After talking to my non tech friends, I realize that the Steam Machine will still be a success.

Basically this. I see advice from people saying, "You can get comparable performance for the same price with the Framework Desktop!" Except, no, you can't, because the base "price" for that computer has no SSD. Once you configure it to be, you know, a computer you can actually use, it's like $500-80

Is Intel NUC Hades Canyon worth to buy in 2025?

I've had one since 2018 and it has served me amazingly well. It's literally silent when not under load and I can still play Fortnite at 1440p and get somewhat stable 60fps although I have to turn almost everything to the lowest setting. I'll probably replace it with a Minisforum G1 Pro within a year

For what it's worth I've used two different mini+eGPU setups without issue. Since the GodY is seemingly out of stock ever
