Can we consider this a laptop now?

What are the specs? I'm still feelin' more of a tablet gadget vibe, with an attachable keyboard accessory. Surface Sumo, as compared to the svelte surface pro, and the downright underfed surface go. Laptop, to me, means "Clamshell body'.

surface go

It's not exactly what I would have done, but you can't go wrong switching to Linux on any device if your aim is to tinker and whatnot. I've not done this specifically, but the first concern that jumps to my mind is questionable support for things like the touchscreen. You'd likely need the linux-sur

SP12" mini review

For me it's also the selection of tablet-centric apps on the iPad. I read lots of PDFs and ePubs. Readdle's PDF Expert and Apple Books are pretty much the best in class on any platform, but not available on Windows. I won't miss using the cramped iPad Pro 11 keyboard; it was as small as the Surface

What is gnome mobile and what is it used for and does it work like desktop gnome?

Phosh is based on Gnome but is kind of a forked project that has taken a life of its own. Gnome mobile is actually Gnome, it’s just a set of patches and configurations on top of it to make it more mobile friendly. I had trouble figuring out how to actually install gnome mobile on my Debian Surface g

Are there tablets that still have a computer operating system?

microsoft also has the surface go line, which are very compact and just as much underpowered (i have the GO2). in the cost for a windows tablet, you should also factor in a keyboard and a pen. imo the OS is almost unsable on finger touch only. In the end i replaced my go2 with an android tablet and

Power Button Has to be Held Down 10 Seconds to Power On

I have a Surface Go and have a similar or the same issue. I have noticed that the tablet will boot normally if it is not plugged in while powering off or hibernating as well as booting or waking. If the tablet is plugged in while doing any of that, it has a chance of not turning on until I hold the

Laptop Recommendations ?

Do NOT get a MS Surface Go 2 if you go for anything MS-brand. My school uses them and they're garbage (below-average battery, only a USB-C port, headphone jack port, and an awful magnetic charging port, low-durability fabric keyboard, basically a glorified tablet but worse). Can't speak for other MS

Surface go alternatives

Consider your use case first. If you aren't dependent on Windows specific software the Lenovo Chromebook Duet11 Gen9 is the better device. Keyboard has more travel and tablet mode of ChromeOS is actually useable compared to Microsofts futile attempts. I've got a Surface GO and the Lenovo right here.

Am I making a mistake with FW12? Considering cancelling preorder.

That's actually my case - buying it as a portable accessory/desktop extension which I can easily bring with me, use in my hands and turn into a semi desktop with a usb-c hub + monitor. Currently I'm using a Surface Go 2 with an Intel Pentium which is... well... quite slow but I can use it to do what

Tablet for programming radios

I have a Surface Go 3 for ham radio mainly cause it has Windows. It is slow, the Surface Go 4 is supposed to be faster. I like the small 10" size, the keyboard is pretty good for the size, but needs a table. It is sort of an awkward tablet, but should be fine for occasional use. Surface Go 4 is $690
