Actual size comparison this time: MacBook 12-inch, Surface Pro 12-inch, and Surface Go

The Surface Go is the perfect size tablet, until you try to type on it, haha. The Surface Go Type Cover is easily one of the best mobile keyboards, but it is very cramped. Some people have a hard time getting used to it. The 12-in model should avoid all that, but it is clearly not as compact.

Can we consider this a laptop now?

What are the specs? I'm still feelin' more of a tablet gadget vibe, with an attachable keyboard accessory. Surface Sumo, as compared to the svelte surface pro, and the downright underfed surface go. Laptop, to me, means "Clamshell body'.

What does it take to deploy Chromebooks in a non-school setting?

Basically this, no offense. It can be done, but bear in mind that you’re an MSP effectively asking how to deploy an OS that is notoriously difficult to manage on a commercial basis. I might instead recommend something akin to Surface tablets, namely cheap options like Surface Go or maybe Lenovo migh

Which one to choose? Kobo Libra Colour or Boox Go 7 Series

If the device you're describing is made, I want one too 😊 Unfortunately, e-readers are not there yet. So, I just got a Boox Go 7 gen 2 to replace my Go 7 colour, I also have a Boox Air 3C (don't judge me) and my partner has the Kobo, so I have a bit of an insight in all of this. I also have ADHD, di

surface go

It's not exactly what I would have done, but you can't go wrong switching to Linux on any device if your aim is to tinker and whatnot. I've not done this specifically, but the first concern that jumps to my mind is questionable support for things like the touchscreen. You'd likely need the linux-sur

Surface with Surface Dock heating up

When docked it's likely running in Performance mode. Tablets use their chassis as a heatsink to dissipate heat so it's not unusual for it to get warm. Same with the cord. My first gen Surface Go gets a little toasty

What tablet for a first-year chem student?

All of my students who I've seen taking notes on a tablet use an iPad. Apple US offers an education discount, I assume they do in the UK as well. I have a Surface Go that I used for grad school and use to lecture from, it works fine too. However, in general for chemistry I'd say that having a tablet

Surface Go 3 in 2025

I support some people using Linux on a Surface Go 3, but I don't own one myself. The Go3 is well supported, even without a Surface Kernel, except the cameras. The attachable keyboard works well, if you use the original Microsoft keyboard, not a cheap bluetooth one. I am unsure though what to rec. as

Actual size comparison this time: MacBook 12-inch, Surface Pro 12-inch, and Surface Go

Thank you for these pictures - reinforces my reaction looking at the SP12 and Sp13 yesterday at Best Buy. Drop the X Plus in the Surface Go shell, blow out the bezels to 11" screen size, and call it a day. Yes, typing would be as cramped as always on the Surface Go Plus (as it is on the 11" iPad Pro

SP12" mini review

For me it's also the selection of tablet-centric apps on the iPad. I read lots of PDFs and ePubs. Readdle's PDF Expert and Apple Books are pretty much the best in class on any platform, but not available on Windows. I won't miss using the cramped iPad Pro 11 keyboard; it was as small as the Surface
