Samsung launches the world's first 500Hz OLED gaming monitor for $1,300, with its burn-in-fighting heat pipes in tow
it is quite disappointing, DSC will be required (nvidia 40 cards seem to have some hiccups with DSC) is it cost-cutting or i wonder if DP 2.1 was just not mature enough when they started developing this screen? 2560x1440p at 500hz seems to require some serious bandwidth, without DSC it would require

After running dual Pro XDR’s since 2020, I finally retired them and went for the LG 45” 5K2K and really blown away.
Specs show 5K2K (5120 x 2160) Huh? They went "ultrawide" by chopping 720 vertical pixels off a 5k display? (by my math that's removing FOUR 720p tvs worth of pixels) The 2014 5k iMac was (5120 × 2880). That's the same as the current Studio Display. Your dual Pro Display XDRs were 2x 6K (6016 × 3384)

Ontario, Canada Fake LG Product Registration
Bought a 45GX950A-B from Best Buy in store in late November, Michigan. Same issue. How do these clowns get this fake card into the new box? I would assume LG must know about this by now?

I'm looking at it on an LG 45GX950A-B (5k OLED) that has been color calibrated by a SpyderPro... it looks brown. It's probably due to the extreme color flake reflecting whatever is in front of it.

Has anyone used VR/AR glasses during your GIS work? Looking for recommendations
I drolling over the LG 45” Ultragear 45GX950A. But i worry about oled burn in from having Arcgis pro open for 8-10hrs daily. And im unsure of R800 curve on my mapping. Dell’s 40” is appealing. Id even spring for a Samsung odyssey arc, if it had a higher ppi & if Samsung could ever get thier QC to be

Is an RTX 5080 worth it for a 5K2K ultrawide setup?
I happen to have and LG's latest and greatest 39GX950B 5k2k monitor. In most games - 5080 is enough, even at ultra settings. Of course that is WITH DLSS at Balanced+. Problems begin with either less optimized titles like Monster Hunter or something like Cyberpunk with everything on - there you must

45" Ultrawide OLED vs. 43" 4K TV: Which is better for 1:1 wheel scale and immersion?
If we were talking a 42” 144/165hz OLED instead, given my experience, the C5/C6 LG OLED is simply better than the 45” 5k2k in many ways. Immersion, 1:1, brightness (by a long way), and glossy screen. It’s definitely not as good for productivity and many types of games, but for sim racing, it is. The

S95H matte (top) vs S90F glossy (bottom)
I’m using the LG 45 inch 5k2k monitor and truly miss having a glossy screen, and I’m in a room with very controlled lighting. At this point I blame manufacturers. It’s clearly extra cost for glass. It will be heavier so cost more to ship.
