Thunderbolt on the T480 and S has an issue with the firmware. The issue is that when connected to a charger the port gets, for lack of a better word, worn and burns out on any firmware below version 21 or something, I need to look it up. This post explains it better than I can: el_charlie • 2y ago P

Hi Jmike, I just checked the Linux firmwware site for the X280 ( https://fwupd.org/lvfs/devices/com.lenovo.ThinkPadN20TF.firmware ) and version 20 is the latest for it, sorry. So if you want version 23, you would have to use Wiindows, like me. But version 20 is okay also and safe enough. Don't worry

Hmm. To the extent possible I tend to recommend quad-core, 16gb of ram and an SSD as a baseline these days. There are actually X280s with 16GB of ram for under $200, as an example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/366251601380 My Dell comparable was gonna be https://www.ebay.com/itm/236634809523 (1x sodimm

Hey! ThinkPads from the T and X series are known to be really durable and work well for Linux and development tasks. I bought a Lenovo ThinkPad T470 from EazyPC about two months ago, and it’s still working great. They seem to properly check and refurbish the laptops, and the one I got feels almost l
