Hello, I bought a new ASUS ROG Strix XG27WCMS and it has a lot of backlight bleed only visible in dark scenes, should I return it or is it just the way curved VA panels are? Thanks
Older ASUS panels had really bad bleeding. Bleeding shouldn't really be normalized in 2026, since there're $200 monitors out there without it. There're IPS panels like the KTC H27E6. Or the new ASUS VG27AQL5A. That has pretty much 0 bleeding. For example my own KTC H27E6 blacks look like this, and i

Is this normal in VA LED Monitors?
There're few newer models for arround $200-300 without bleeding. Panels got pretty bright last couple of years, so they can use really thick diffusers and the bleeding got reduced a lot. If you get the same panel it will probably have almost same bleeding (maybe more), but there're cheap LCD models

Gigabyte g24f 2 vs Lenovo legion r24e
You have won panel lottery on this left one. Not really, IPS's improved a ton least 2 years. That doesn't look like 1500:1 and it's not rare at all nowdays (so no lottery won). There're models like the $250 KTC H27E6 or the new ASUS VG27AQ5 (that is on sale for $180, pretty much a steal for a 1440p

1440p recommendations
For me, triple the price for an OLED is not worth the price. Sure, IPS has backlight bleeding, but most of the time you will not notice it. Phone cameras exaggerate the panels, human eye cannot notice it so clearly. On the other hand OLED will be beautiful technology in the future, but now it is not

help me buy a monitor
If that was the specs you are looking for. You might as well just try those ktc monitors instead. Like the h27t22C-3 or h27t6, h27e6, which are all ips monitors. There is also even LG monitors if you get on good sale that are around that price.
