Long time e-reader user. I’m disappointed with a modern device

From what I’ve read is that Pocketbook is sub subpar compared to Kobo and Boox. I would be very careful drawing such drastic conclusions that modern e-readers are worse than older ones based on your two only ereaders… I have Kobos (Libra Colour, Clara B&W and Elipsa 2E) and all of them are snappy an

Lost in the E-reader world: Seeking a 10.3" device for Manga/Comics to replace my 2011 Kindle

Kobo Elipsa 2e. Great size with a good screen. You can also take some notes on it.

📚 Daily Romancelandia Chat 📚

I got a small bonus at work and while most of it went to boring, adult bullshit like student loans and braces for the kids, I was able funnel some of it to a deal on a Kobo Elipsa 2e. I haven't had a dedicated eReader before and I'm excited to get something a little bigger than my phone that will ho

Does the Kobo remote work on koreader?

Yes, I got it working with this plugin: https://ogkevin.github.io/kobo.koplugin/features/bluetooth.html. This with the Kobo Elipsa 2E

Which E-Reader 2025?

There's a massive difference between these two. I think you have to decide what it is you want it for, but I can think of at least one option that might fit all use cases. If reading is your primary focus, the Kobo Libra Colour is your best option. It's designed for reading books and you will get we

I absolutely cannot decide on a model and it's driving me mad

In your case, top priority would be to identify exactly what you want to use the device for. Some uses simply can not be combined in one device; "large for reading/annotating pdf's and small to carry it around easily ", "very sharp contrast and also colour+front light". That is why choices have to b

Best 7.8"~10" BW ereader

The Sage is still advertised on their website (they don't sell the devices where I live so I can't tell general availability). Kobo has registered 2 new devices with FCC in the middle of June ( https://fcc.report/company/Netronix-Inc ). They usually release the new devices about 3 months later. Sage

Screen size question

The Kobo Sage was 8" but it was discontinued recently. For Kobo, you can either get the Libra Color (7") or the Elipsa 2e (10"). Honestly, screen size doesn't matter as much for reading regular books since you can easily adjust the font size to be what you want. Outside of Kobo, Boox and InkPad both

Casual Wednesday afternoon casual chats - 08 January 2025

I got A- for my first assessment which is pretty good considering I hadn't done any of the reading at all because of the funeral. My big uni Kobo arrived today so I can get into doing all the readings I've got to do. My old Kobo is for reading novels and fun stuff, the new one is for important readi
