Need an E-Reader but not break the bank

You’re Canadian? Kobo is in Toronto. Just a note. But more importantly, the devices are repairable and well built, plus the policies are pretty user-friendly. (Price matching, returns, downloadable for backup, etc.) I’d only avoid Kobo if you routinely switch between devices (phones/ereaders/tablets

What's the best simple book focused e-reader (not Kindle)

If you're dead set on not going with a Kindle, it's the Kobo Clara BW. No buttons, but the premium you pay to get them isn't worth it imo.

What is the absolute best budget e-reader by tier? Looking for the "cheapest you'd actually recommend"

Not sure why people rave about the Xteink X4. It's an interesting enthusiast's device, but it doesn't even have a frontlight. I wouldn't recommend it as Baby's First E-Reader. Clara BW is a really great choice for the price. You can get a GlowLight 4 used for a really great price, but you have to tw

Does anything really beat Kindle?

Why not, though? They all use basically the same technology, but Kobo includes almost everything across their lineup, while Amazon gatekeeps a lot of features, like the warm front light not being available on the basic Kindle, or automatic warm light adjustment being limited to the Signature Edition

What Should I buy???

The Kobo Clara BW ($100) or Kobo Clara Color ($130) would be ideal for you and fulfill all these requirements. Kobo has native, built-in Libby integration, and you can also highlight a sentence, tap, add a note, and type your thoughts. Not with a stylus, but with an on-screen keyboard, a stylus will

Kobo v kindle

Which kobos or kindles are you looking at? Kobo clara bw isn't much expensive than the kindle basic and it's also waterproof and has warm light which the basic doesn't have, so you're getting extra features. Kobo Libra Colour is cheaper than the kindle colorsoft and it has buttons which are absent i

kobo clara bw or boox go 6 for ao3 fics?

Ao3 doesn't have an app. Any app you're using is unofficial, and may steal your login info or is illegally profiting off of AO3 through ads. Log out, delete it, and change your password asap. As for your question, it's dependent on how much you're willing to spend and if you have easy access to a co

Kindle or Kobo?

I really love my Pocketbook Verse Pro. It handles a ton of formats, and sideloading is the best experience I’ve had. I’ve owned kindles, and I currently own a Kobo Clara BW that I rarely use now.

Remarkable Paper Pro Move Disappointment.

Honestly I don’t understand people blaming on OP lol I have kobo Clara BW and it adjusts the epub file according to their screen size. And THIS HAS TO BE A STANDARD for e-inc tablet. What are you even expecting from e-inc tablet that can’t even deal with epub file with 500 USD?! I didn’t notice that

Ereader for 8 year old - advice please

I think Kobo Clara BW is a good choice, as you can turn on sideload mode to disable the store and focus solely on reading. The price is also solid.
