Tried everything —still no crema [Gevi EC3111]

I just read 18 comments on this post and not a SINGLE ONE asked about a grinder. The OP is using pre-ground Illy. Dude, you need an espresso grinder - even if it's just something like a kingrinder K6

Koffiemolen

Can't geat near 25-30s espresso extraction, feeling hopeless

It is a cheap filter coffee grinder. you can only brew with pressurized basket with it. Kingrinder K6 is surely one of the best low price you can get new, but manual. the K1 is really the cheapest. You might still have better result with really fresh coffee ( less than 4 weeks old) but really the gr

What espresso machine did you start on, and would you recommend it to a beginner today?

As a beginner with a bambino plus (with a kingrinder k6), it's been fantastic. Pulls good enough shots combined with the auto milk steam that I make better home lattes than most coffee shops.

Affordable espresso grinders? Is it even possible? [$100]

If you can spend $100, Kingrinder K6 is your best option. It will perform much better than those $200 electrics. Next best option would be K2. This video will help you decide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyXzk_Q7l8A The title says it's a P series review, but it also covers K.

what am i doing wrong? shots watery n squirting [DeLonghi ECP3420 / Zurich 367cr13 520A]

It's not necessarily a bad grinder; it can produce interesting results for pourovers. Just not anything finer. I don't think you can find anything new that is good for espresso with that budget. You are also limited to hand grinders with a budget of <100usd. The KinGrinder P series is under 50usd. T

First machine.

First machine. What is your grinder ? My first was kingrinder k6, with a non pressurised basket. Solid setup, I had delicious cups with it. IMS filter was definetely an upgrade but not necessary. Search for advices, a lot can bz found through search.

kinda bummed with my Manual grinder

Not necessarily. Electric grinders are definitely more efficient but there are plenty of hand grinders that perform comparably to more expensive electric counterparts. KinGrinder K6 works great for espresso

1zpresso Q air or Timemore C3

Save money with a timemore c2s if you're brewing fp only, or just get a Kingrinder K6 if you're planning to get an espresso setup in future.

Espresso afficionados

The shardar flat burr grinder specifically. That one uses the common 64mm burr size so you can use different burrs. The df54 is also pretty nice. Again, you can use different burrs depending on your preference. If it was me, I'd get a manual hand cranked kingrinder K6 or a 1zpresso jx for espresso.
