For me it was a kindle paperwhite. This is not exorbitantly expensive to probably most people, but at the time it was to me. I get migraines from reading in low light, reading on iPhone screens, and can’t afford space for books or to own physical copies. Now I have access to thousands of library boo

My 14 year old chaos bringer is a voracious reader. She buys her own books with any money she can scrounge, including 600 to 700 page chapter books. We bought her a Kindle paperwhite for christmas last year, and has just about worn it out. The flip cover case for it is falling apart She recently add

I bought my first e-reader, a Sony PRS-505, in 2007 for $300 (about $750 today) and it still works. In 2015 my husband bought me a Paperwhite since it’s backlit and I didn’t have to use a clip on light to read with then in 2024 he bought me an updated kindle that has warm light and is water resistan

Doesn't work on newer kindles. I left my beloved kindle paperwhite on a plane and had to buy a new one; it now needs to connect to wifi periodically for you to continue reading, which defeats the whole purpose of having a kindle when it does it while you're on a bus or something.

Oldest item without moving parts: I'm a chef and a lot of my daily-use mixing bowls are from the 1940s-1960s. I don't know which one is the oldest oldest, but probably a Fire King mixing bowl from the late 30s. Oldest item with moving parts: I have my great-great grandmother's rolling pin, which I'm

I had a kindle paperwhite for at least 10 years. I loved it but I hated that Amazon was removing the option to download the books I bought. That ticked me off. Then the coloursoft came out and had such horrible reviews and was overpriced. I randomly saw a TikTok about other color e-readers and I had

I bought a kindle a few years ago and it drastically increased my love for reading again. It’s nice because I can sample books before purchasing to see if they grab my attention. It also has a night mode so I can read in bed at night versus scroll on my phone. Edit: I bought a kindle paperwhite

Kindle Paperwhite and an Anker 3 in 1 Charging Station. Had the charger since it launched in February and its built like a tank. The hinge still feels brand new after months of daily folding and unfolding. The pop-up watch charger clicks in and out clean every time. No wobble, no loose parts. Anker

So i'm considering getting my gf a Kindle Paperwhite for Christmas. ... Any advice is appreciated. Don't buy a Kindle. I was an early Kindle owner and while the hardware is good, the user experience has done nothing but get worse every single update. Furthermore, the Kindle store has continually mad

Have you looked into the Libby app for her? My public library system has a massive catalogue with them, and I can read anything I borrow from them on my Kindle paperwhite. The books automatically go back to the library and get removed from the Kindle. My favorite hack with this, however, is that if
