Building a PC with my kid

Most motherboards have features you do not need. I'd prefer the B850 chipset over the B650 because it is more modern and will be supported for longer. At the moment, 1× 8 GB has bad availability and is only a little bit cheaper than this 2× kit. 750 W is overkill for a system that will actually draw

Good deal? 4TB Gen4 NVME TLC + DRAM -$400

I have a 3x 4TB Inland Performance Plus drives which are gen 4 and use Phison E18 Controllers. One drive uses an older firmware (EIFM 31.4) which is what causes Random read performance degradation. My other 2 drives use EIFM51.3 and work fine. PSA: Phison E18 based SSD owners update your firmware to

White/Pink PC Build: 1.2-1.6k USD

The Spatium M461 uses QLC flash, which has low durability and becomes noticeably slower after a few years, so it should not be used as the OS drive. A better drive with TLC flash would be the Inland Performance Plus (with DRAM cache) for the same price, Klevv CRAS C910, or TeamGroup G50.

Is it just me or are nvme drives less durable?

I have an SN850 I took the heatsink off of, and it was on there real tight and it was my first time so that drive got BENT during that process. it did not come online for a few days but has been solid since then. However I have had a 4tb inland performance plus drive straight up just die and take my

Does anyone know why I am randomly getting slowdowns?(2024)

It’s the SSD. The cheapo drives asus puts in get controller bugs, I replaced mine with an inland performance plus and haven’t looked back.

Anyone had issues upgrading the SSD?

It would be good if there was a compatibility list somewhere, I know the Crucial P3 works, the Samsung 990 and the Inland Performance Plus works while there's problems with the ACER Predator GM7000 and now the Kingston KC3000

Help me customize my first PC

The 9850X3D is an overclocked 9800X3D; the performance increase is usually not considered worth the higher price. Anyway, Micro Center bundles are good value for money; get the cheapest 9800X3D or 9850X3D bundle that is available. (B850 and X870 have the same performance.) GPU brands do not matter;

Need Help Building a PC!

I suggest following u/Cer_Visia's build but swap the SSD for the Western Digital WD Blue SN5000 2 TB instead since it's cheaper than the Inland Performance Plus 2 TB as of time of writing this comment.

My sisters pc isn’t running well at all, what is her build missing

Pray you have a micro center nearby and get a 7600x3d combo and pay the extra to get 16gb of ram as ram is extremely expensive at the moment, then buy a inland performance plus gen 4x4 1tb m.2.

Please review my part list

There's nothing inherently wrong with brands, but some brands simply charge more for certain lines than others. The motherboard selection, for instance - the ROG B650E-F is a good board (I should know - I run one personally), but if you aren't going to use the feature set of it, then chances are som
