Headphone mixing versus room calibration/monitor mixing
Monitors and human hearing are a very subjective thing. I’ve mixed quality work in bad rooms and I’ve struggled with the low end in perfectly treated rooms. I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but I’m very impressed with the first gen iLoud micros. To me they’re the new NS10s. They’re ultra

Advice on this weird obsession with mixing
You could pretend this is the exact unpolished indie sound you were after, it doesn't sound bad. But I can see why you want to improve the situation. The lack of good monitoring causes the exact problem you describe, there's no other way around. It can sound ok-ish after some iterations and tweaks b

Drop ur sounds settings Bois n gurls
Its an amazing tool, I want to get a few different amps and make new profiles for them as well. For measuring I really want to get a pair of iLoud Micro Monitor Pro, they come with a measuring mic and software to calibrate it. Only thing is they cost $700... Maybe someday.

Built a studio. Started a retrowave project
Thanks a lot! Yes balancing family and music is a puzzle. Now I can do it more frequently when the kids are sleeping 😀 I use FL Studio as my primary DAW. My hardware includes the Roland Boutique JU-06A for analog-style pads and the Arturia MicroFreak for versatile digital textures. I control everyth

Best affordable speakers for mixing in an untreated environment?
IK iLoud Micro Monitors are solid for untreated rooms and surprisingly clear for the size and price.

Placement suggestions for two studio monitors
A pair of iLoud Micro Monitor might fit where the current speakers are. Otherwise you might have to reposition the left monitor of just simply remove it if you want a decent monitor placement

She’s here. I’m excited and overwhelmed lol.
I use these IK iLoud Micro Monitors for practicing alone in my home office. I've been pretty happy with them. You may wish to go with something a bit bigger depending on the size of your space as very small monitors don't sound good in a larger space.

Suggestions for a small speaker solution for apartment?
Presonus eris 5x monitors are decent and not too pricey. Really any decent set of studio monitors will do the trick. Ik media iLoud micro monitors have inbuilt room treatment functionality that are a good option if you have the budget for it.

Fuck expensive speakers and room accoustics, normalize mixing and mastering through shitbox car stereo system
If you don’t have a treated space the best thing to mix with is some nice 3” monitors like the iLoud Micros. Anything larger is just going to be problematic. No matter what you use you should test the cheapest airbuds you can find and a rusted out 1996 Honda Civic.

Getting to the bottom of Nord piano patch issue
Hi The set up is for home use in my living room. Connected directly into a pair of iLoud Micro monitors. By "boomy and boxy" I mean that in the lower register I am aware of the speaker. Like the sound is coming from inside an enclosure like a slight echo. If it helps, the Nord Bright Grand with Heav
