Don't get the hori mini! It's so small you will be disheartened from fight stick all together if that would be your first experience. Try to find hori rap 4 used, it should be similar price if not cheaper, I got it for 70$

I don’t know about the Hori mini, though Hori has generally made good products. I know I don’t like small sized cases. It’s worth looking into if you prefer the size. You mention paying in arcades, so if that felt good to you, I would surmise you might not like light controllers.

The F500 feels nice! I come from a really small Hori stick mini so the difference is like day and night. The buttons are really responsive and it shouldn't be too difficult to change these for some better sanwa ones (as long as you're strong enough to take the connectors out!)
