Is the HeyGears RS worth the price difference over the Saturn 4 ultra 16k
Unquestionably yes. I have two s4u16k’s and a reflex rs turbo. The Heygears is hands down the better machine. It makes better prints with identical models and resin I use elegoo abs-like 3.0+ on the PARP10 setting at 50nm layers and it makes gorgeous prints. Sharp detail and crisp edges every time E

How much is *too* much for a 3D printer?
If I understand you correctly, you want to buy a printer before you know how well your models sell? Why not the other way round? There are 3D printing providers, who have all, the knowledge, machines, scalability and most importantly, everything else that is needed to finish the models. Print a few

Replacing an S4U 16K with better option
Nothing wrong with Heygears because they work as well as they tell you they do. Some of their parts cost a little more but I actually spend less over time because their screens and film last 3-4x longer than elegoo. They're not as closed as some people seem to think and the RS line will be opening u

How much has print quality increased over the last few years?
Print resolution took a pretty big leap once we got under 0.03mm/30um pixel size (Saturn 2/8K generation). It's been pretty diminishing returns since then. I own a Mars 2 Pro, and with tuning it can still compete on print smoothness, but it won't render the small texture details that higher resoluti

Is the HeyGears RS worth the price difference over the Saturn 4 ultra 16k
I’ve got all 3, the Saturn 4 Ultra is kinda wonky because of the tilt vat, especially if you’re using flexy resins. The 3 Ultra is a workhorse, and the Heygears is pretty awesome. I use the PAF10 resin, it’s like 37 a kilo and the refill system works nicely. I don’t use the heated vat since I’m in a

Is the HeyGears RS worth the price difference over the Saturn 4 ultra 16k
I own both the S4U and RS Reflex Turbo and I like them both, but I definitely prefer the Heygears. The results are just so crisp. I've printed the same model on each machine to compare side by side and the difference was staggering. I did have a couple issues with my S4U and their support was actual

We are looking to get a couple of resin printers for our engineering department.
FDM printing experience really doesn’t translate to resin, you might as well accept you are starting over. My understanding is Formlabs is the only real option as a commercial grade resin printing system. Everything below that is ‘consumer’ grade and comes with a whole host of problems, challenges,

how reputable are elegoo printers?
Among the consumer <$1k (USD) printers Elegoo is the most consistent by a wide margin. Anycubic is a bit of a distant second with a higher rate of dropped balls and self-inflicted failures. Phrozen and Uniformation have significant consistency issues and QA problems not commensurate with their premi

Anyone upgraded their screen?
I haven't made the upgrade, but the YouTuber Greedy 3D has a video of HeyGears RS vs Turbo. I think he showcases the time difference with each printer with and without a PRM. If I recall, there was surprisingly little difference in time between an RS with PRM and a turbo with PRM. The amber screen d

Resin priner recommendations for prototyping
Their lineup and naming is confusing. The Turbo is just a screen upgrade for the Reflex and Reflex RS that controls light bleed better and speeds up the printing. Think of it as just an add on for them. (but a necessary one) As for the printers, Reflex RS is for miniatures and more basic resins. The
