M5 Plus

Thanks for sharing. I'll need to see how my GMKtec M5 Plus with 5825u stacks up. It did ship with dual channel ram and decent thermal paste and heatsink and a tiny 40x10mm fan cooling the SSD and ram.

For popularity and quality the GMKtec M5 Plus and Ultra are the only ones I seen barebones with a decent processor.

Although I am somewhat fond of the Acemagician AM06 Pro 5800U/5825U, the manufacturer (CYX) doesn't seem to have the quality control of a few years ago, making me wonder if it's worth the long-term investment. U series is a low-power laptop chip. H series is a “normal” power laptop chip. U series will be lower power, lower performance but lower heat/noise. H series will be more powerful but at the expense of heat/noise. 5825U definitely supports 32GB and NVMe (albeit, Gen 3 so not the fastest). I have 3 5

For a mPC, consider the GMKtec NucBox M5 Plus as starting point. The Ryzen 7 5825U meets the suggested processing power requirements, with the M5 Plus being solid build quality.
