They ALMOST had a PERFECT Budget Mini PC here! [Blackview MP100 Review - R7 5825U Version]
Thanks for sharing. I'll need to see how my GMKtec M5 Plus with 5825u stacks up. It did ship with dual channel ram and decent thermal paste and heatsink and a tiny 40x10mm fan cooling the SSD and ram.

Mini PC to replace Laptop
For popularity and quality the GMKtec M5 Plus and Ultra are the only ones I seen barebones with a decent processor.

Small homelab addition
Here I read their hardware is sh*t I feel you. Truth of the matter when somebody shows up on Reddit, it's rarely glorification, only problems. Most of the time when someone posts about appreciation, it often comes across as a paid advertisement 😊 Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Here's the sco

ACEMAGICIAN AM06PRO Mini PC
Although I am somewhat fond of the Acemagician AM06 Pro 5800U/5825U, the manufacturer (CYX) doesn't seem to have the quality control of a few years ago, making me wonder if it's worth the long-term investment. DDR4 RAM - are there better barebones options than the AMD 5825u based MiniPCs?
Thanks yeah that's return switcheroo is a little...eh... From my research I can get a new barebones Gmktec M5 Plus 5825u for $240, a similar 5825u with ram and SSD for $275, or an open box reputable seller Beelink SER5 Max with 680m for $350. I can't imagine I'll magically solve my USB issue but I'm

Ryzen 7 5825u Vs 6800H
U series is a low-power laptop chip. H series is a “normal” power laptop chip. U series will be lower power, lower performance but lower heat/noise. H series will be more powerful but at the expense of heat/noise. 5825U definitely supports 32GB and NVMe (albeit, Gen 3 so not the fastest). I have 3 5

mini PC
For a mPC, consider the GMKtec NucBox M5 Plus as starting point. The Ryzen 7 5825U meets the suggested processing power requirements, with the M5 Plus being solid build quality.
