Another strix or add a gpu?

I had 2 gmktec Evo x2 this year. Well after 1 month I realized there was no good model to run on them. But now there's Deepseek v4 flash which I'd choose as daily driver. But to perform well you have to operate machines in tensor parallelism which is implemented only in vllm. And I don't know the cu

Bios updates

On the beelink and hp, setting the memory allocation to "auto" worked for me. For GMK/Six, id recommend reading https://strixhalo.wiki/Hardware/PCs/GMKtec_EVO-X2 https://strixhalo.wiki/Hardware/Boards/Sixunited_AXB35 https://youtu.be/BTIUL-yaY4s?si=BONXKmCM48nG2m-Y

Best Mini PC under $1,500 for a DevOps Engineer? Looking for long-term recommendations.

You will need to do your due diligence on 32GB builds. Some like the Geekom A9 Max begin shipping with 1x 32GB stick. Single channel mode can easily reduce processing and graphics performance by up to 40%. Purchasing the missing/matching stick can easily break a $1500 USD budget. The Mac Mini M4 Pro

DGX Spark or Minisforum MS-S1 Max?

Man, these things got expensive. I picked up a new GMKTec Evo-X2 for like $2,000 when it first came out. That made it an easy decision over the DGX Spark that was expected to be double the price. It certainly wasn't great early on, but software support is much better now. I did want to use it for ga

Geekom A9 Max HX 470 as my work PC that also plays Cyberpunk on weekends

There's not a big advantage here what the exception of the XDNA NPU between this and my GMKtec K8 Plus. Mine shipped with a single 32GB stick, not 2x16GB. Free slot for a cheap upgrade later, but out of the box you're running single channel. Single channel memory can easily kill processing and graph

GMKtec Evo-X2 help

Their download stuff is poorly organised but it's here: https://www.gmktec.com/pages/drivers-and-software?spm=..product_ba613c14-a120-431b-af10-c5c5ca575d55.header_1.1 It's whichever one of the first four Evo-X2 links on that page that applies to the model variant you have. It doesn't specifically say

GMKtec Evo-X2 help

Oh, I forgot to mention. If you have any important data, back it up first. The GMKtec installation image will completely reformat and re-image your drive with no warning and no questions asked. Ask me how I know... :(

Still using 2026.4.23

Same. I have a MacBook M5 with 126GB & GMKtec EVO-X2 Ryzen Al Max+ 395 with 128GB. Both running the latest LM Studio. Both broke when I installed openclaw 2026.7.1-beta.2 or newer (Every version). I have a BOSGAME M5 AI PC MAX+ 395 with 128GB coming this weekend and I will test again but with Linux.

MiniPC for gaming w/Ray Tracing - recommendations?

I see you're playing DOOM: The Dark Ages. It's pretty brutal on graphics requirements due to the engine and quality of coding. It also requires significant VRAM because of the ray tracing requirements. My grandson says you're looking for 12GB of VRAM and ray tracing with a PassMark score of 25K+. Al
