Switching from Apple Watch to Garmin — is it really worth it?
I've switched back and forth a few times, most recently from AW Ultra to Garmin Enduro. A few things that made me switch from Apple: Battery life just doesn't cut it, even with AW Ultra I cannot get through a long hike, bike or Iron Man. No maps in Europe. Yes you can use 3rd party apps like WOD but

Running
I have a Garmin Enduro 3 and an Apple Watch Ultra 3. I've had numerous Garmins (Forerunners and Epix) in the past and had a few Apple Watches (3 & 5) before the AWU3. I purchased the AWU3 after the Enduro 3. Training Metrics : I run Ultras and run daily. The running metrics are neat, but generally a

Watches for nurses
Garmin enduro 3. My battery lasts 36 days without solar charging. Recording my hikes and runs and workouts decrease battery a bit more. But if I can get decent sun, my battery is nearly infinite It's more of an activity tracker than smart watch. It does have smart watch features. Im very active. Bac

New Cheetah 2 Pro at around 459$
Agreed. I have the Max just because the price was too good not to try it out. I’ve owned all the major brands, and the Max has quickly become my favorite, and now that it’s integrated with Runna, it’s pretty much my go to. I still wear my Garmin Enduro 2 for golf, cause honestly, nobody comes even c

Garmin or Coros
I've flipflopped back and forth between Garmin and Coros a few times over the years. For me, the biggest selling point for Garmin is that they have a richer and more mature product ecosystem outside of just the watch. I'm also a cyclist, so I have a Garmin bike computer, Garmin power meter pedals, G

Coros or Garmin
Coming from a Forerunner 965, a few Fenix's and most recently a Pace 4 (which I've returned as it's too small for me), and training for marathons and ultras myself, the top 2 contenders are the Apex 4 and the Garmin Fenix 8 (although there's a deal for a Fenix 7x Sapphire Solar I'm seriously conside

Is the Garmin switch worth it?
I use the workouts on my garmin enduro 3 and it works a treat. I think all watches / devices will struggle with sudden speed changes as it’ll take a short average (3-5 seconds or so) as your speed. I wouldn’t expect the Apple Watch to be much different to the Garmin though when it comes to tracking

2 Months since I switched from Garmin fenix 8 and I'm only sorry for waiting so long
I'll weigh in just for the fun of it. I've had Garmin, Coros, Suunto, Apple watch Ultra, and recently Amazfit. I HATE charging the Apple constantly, and having to pay for golf apps when Garmin has it so beautifully integrated, is a hard one for me. I play 30ish rounds a year, and I love all that the

GPS inaccuracies during race (first time racer)
Unless you are an elite running on a certified course in elite wave so you can hit the tangents, it’s probably never going to be perfect. I think the most important thing is to pick one method and stick with it so you can figure out the idiosyncrasies of your device and accommodate for it mentally.
