Without any bias, with all facts considered, do boiler espresso machines produce better coffee than thermoblock machines?

A 50ml boiler for 40ml shots will do that... GCP was good 15 years ago when there was $400 Gaggia or the much more expensive 4-figure E61 group option. Now we've got loads of good machines to choose from.

Inversely, look at the Gaggia classic pro. Not relatively expensive, but still a lot of money for a machine that you still need to do a bunch of little tricks or a rather costly mod to make sure your water temperature is adequate.

Tried to build the ultimate mid-budget setup... What would you change?

I’ve had a sette 270 for years. After upgrading my Gaggia classic pro to a dual boiler, the shot quality is night and day. So assuming you get a good grind, the machine makes a massive difference, way more than people on here would have you believe. It actually shocked me how different the shot qual

The steaming on the Nuova Simonelli Oscar II is ridiculous

I only make 1 - 2 cups too. But I never have to wait for the steam to refill or all that I used to do with my Gaggia classic pro. I think 550ml will pull of a couple of cups no problems at all, at the end of the day I use a fraction of the side of my boiler, but I didn't have lots of options in my l

Got the wrong Gaggia , keep or return it? [300euro]

Wow that’s the price I remembered when I was browsing 4 years ago. Now going for 995$. I like everything about it , the style , the components , articulating steam wand , not leaking hopefully , brass boiler , 300cc vs. 100cc of the GCP, you have to buy so much stuff for the Gaggia to make it up to

Anybody frequently making milk drinks on a single boiler? [$1500]

I had a Gaggia Classic and then upgraded to an HX machine a few years ago. It's significantly easier to make back to back or more milk drinks. I don't even think about it, whereas getting it right on the GCP was a chore (that said, it had a very small boiler- a larger one would have made things easi

Delonghi Dedica EC885 vs Gaggia Espresso Evolution Deluxe – first espresso machine [200$]

Some caution to be had there though with used Gaggias 2023–2024 Gaggia Classic Pro Evo and "boilergate", flakes in the water Any gaggia classic pre-E24 has an aluminum boiler, and aluminum corrodes much easier than brass/steel. For example traditional descaler "Dezcal" will corrode it badly. Hard wa
