Color the 49 and 51 are mostly the color codes. EDIT: Posting my commnent from below for clarification. Don't trust the Amazon description.Gaggia in their infinitely Italian wisdom uses Model: RI9380/46 for both the E24 and Evo pro models Brushed Stainless Steel model. My original comment the number

Is this marketplace find a good deal? [$500 budget]
Seems like a decent deal but like another poster mentioned, the gaggia classic Evo pro had boiler coating that flaked off. Google boilergate and try to find the affected models so you can make sure this isn't one of them

Favorite spot at home
I love it! It really feels like there are an abundance of features on it. Steaming is good and powerful, nothing like a commercial machine of course, but about 20 seconds for about 8 oz of milk. Pulls good shots, I enjoy the pre infusion and the option to set the temps of my boilers. The "schedule s

help with understanding note! [$300]
Until recently all Gaggia Classics had uncoated aluminum boilers. Two years ago, Gaggia Released the Classic Pro Evo. In this model, they started coating the inside of the boiler, supposedly to make it more resistant to limescale. Unfortunately, the coating flakes off, making the Evo a bad choice of

hate to beat a dead horse, but this isn't scale, right?
Pro Evo from 2023? That's your problem. Look up "Boilergate". The boilers from this particular year and model are coated in a non-stick coating that was intended to reduce scale build up. Instead, it ended up flaking off and flowing through the water paths of the machine. The good news is that boile

Looking for Espresso Machine Suggestions [$500 tops]
Gaggia classic or classic pro (not sure of difference yet) This is the highest quality machine at your price point, but the hardest to use since it lacks a PID. But if you are handy, you can upgrade it for PID or go all the way with Gaggiuino or GaggiMate and it will have most of the features of a $

Japan-available espresso machines [¥100,000]
If you are getting a Gaggia Classic to mod it, either: Get the latest model E24. It has a non-coated brass boiler that will not flake. Get a used older model, either the OG Gaggia Classic made from 1991 to 2018, or the Gaggia Classic Pro (NOT EVO!) made from 2019 to 2022. These all have uncoated alu

E24 Pro?
There is one e24, which is simply a Gaggia Classic pro with a brass boiler. Skip the evo. It’s fine, but you’ll have to replace the boiler with the brass one which is $160. Then you’ll basically have an e24. You might as well get the e24, or the 2019 Gaggia Classic if it’s cheaper. For the evo, they

I tried steamed water for my americano. I’m stunned.
As a gaggia classic owner, this slightly upsets me because now I've got to get my boiler up to steam temp first to steam the water, then cool it off for the espresso shot. But I am 100% trying this out tomorrow morning.

I drink regular my wife drinks decaf, am I going to be endlessly dialing in?
A) It's good as long as you use the same beans or beans with a similar roast level. If you switch, you need to tweak it a little but it's not that a shot with the "wrong" grind setting is undrinkable. I personally drink 99% of the shots I make and either find them delicious or interesting.B) As long
