$500 will buy you a Gaggia Brera bean to cup espresso machine and it will be worth every penny. Use some Lavazza Super Crema whole beans and you’ll never need to go out for coffee again. We’ve had one for 7 years, make 4 shots of espresso daily and it still works perfectly.

For that amount a Gaggia Brera, or any of the slightly better Gaggia models…worth considering a refurbished unit from someplace dependable such as wholelattelove.com.

I did a lot of research for the same price range and ended up with a Gaggia Brera. It was for my weekend house where guests/my wife would be using it and I wanted push-button level of ease. If you do wind up having to get a replacement, I can definitely recommend checking out the Gaggia Brera line. As many shots as I pull a day off this thing (roughly 20-24), it has been going strong forever (nearly 10 years), and its price point is very good. I don't have the initiative to pull manual
