It's a bit of a gimmick but it's fun, and it stops new users from getting lost in the weeds right away, as it's so easy to do. Fujifilm sort of did that with the X-Half. But with a 1" sensor and a dumbed down system that doesn't let you shoot raw. And then they priced it twice what it is worth because they're Fujifilm.

I just bought it. I’m still studying all the settings before I take it out and use it but it’s one of my favorite cameras. I don’t know why people are hating on it. It feels premium for $650 to me and it’s come with a lot of filters and features that have to be manipulated in Photoshop and Lightroom

Get the Fujifilm x half refurbished and save that money. The x half is a fun camera that amateurs can toy with. The pictures won’t be professional but you will love them. follow the subreddit for both and see what pictures draw you in.
