does such a camera exist?

This is the concept behind the Fujifilm X-half. Not necessarily disposable, but to simulate the experience of an old film point and shoot. Though it is fairly expensive for something with those limitations.

Digital “lomo-esque” camera?

Define lomography, I guess? Are you talking about the boosted contrast and vignetting from the minitar lens in the LC-A and LC-A+? You can get a minitar lens for a number of mounts. Or Fujifilm has a toy mode that does an excellent job. I use this on my Fuji X-Half, and the images are fantastic prin

Finding a 22+ year old forum where people fight about Leicas reminds me that the ciclejerking has been going on for a Long time

It pains me thinking that Fujifilm took that oath by castrating their AF and focusing on poser cameras like the x-half. They don't even hide behind the "high quality" mask of Leica and make everything out of Japan to cash out as much as possible. It's depressing, honestly.

Took my baby to our last trip to Presa del Llano. Still not sure about the grain tbh. Do you think Fuji will adjust it in the future?🌳

I'm not holding my breath tbh... It feels like low hanging fruit for them to give grain more granularity (pun intended :-P) but considering that the the whole X Half operation hasn't been the viral success they were hoping for, and that the Fujifilm of 2025 is not the same we had 10 years ago we mig

Opinions on the fujifilm X Half?? Someone tried it yet?

I think this is exactly the kind of camera Fujifilm should be making to capture the casual market. It's a bit of a gimmick but it's fun, and it stops new users from getting lost in the weeds right away, as it's so easy to do. I do think the lack of flash is a huge missed opportunity, but otherwise,

Buying my wife her first "real" camera, needs to be super phone-friendly?

The Fujifilm X half has all of the modern, trendy vibes but in a compact, easy to use package.

Fuji X-H2S

I've owned an X-H2s for three years and wouldn't recommend it for your purposes. Compared to the X-T3, it offers no significant advantages that would justify the high price. I originally come from Nikon and photograph surfing and water sports, among other things. The autofocus on the X-H2s is disapp

Thinking of quitting my job to pursue photography full time. Would love to hear from anyone who's taken the leap.

Your reply resonated very much with me. I didn’t go all in with photography as a business, rather a little side hustle. I wish I wouldn’t have done it. Before that it was only me and my camera. I felt very creative. But as I started to do it for money this creative fountain dried out. It took me man

Forget the X-Half. It‘s not a serious camera. It‘s a fun, but extremely overpriced toy. The f-stop with that sensor size is laughable, the AF is even for Fujifilms low standards bad.

Help me with the right camera and my preferences?

Fujifilm is famous for its out-of-camera JPEGs. However, they are quite trendy and expensive, and the only new one in your budget is the Fujifilm X half, which is a rather simplistic camera.
