Is upgrading an espresso machine actually worth the money?
I've got a very expensive setup (ECM Syncronika | Fiorenzato AllGround Sense) and while the shots are better than on my first setup (Lelit Grace and 1zpresso J Max), it wasn't the main driving force for the upgrade. I made the upgrades for workflow and ease of use:- manual 1zpresso grinder to Eureka

What grinder do you use, why, and how much did it cost?
Fiorenzato AllGround Sense was 900€ when I bought it. Why did I buy it?I was just sick of single dosing, wanted something with weight based instead of time based grinding and one that is easy to clean.

Grinder with built-in scale for V60/espresso switching?
There are quite a few good (high consistency) Ground by Weight grinders, that will do fine enough for espresso, as well for drip/immesion etc. - have a look at the Fiorenzato Allground Sense, Eureka Atom W75 and Mahlkönig E65S GbW.

Grinder for ease of workflow?
If you go thorough a bag of beans at a time, you'll have the easiest workflow with a hopper grinder, and even easier if it grinds by weight. Check out Eureka Libra or Fiorenzato AllGround Sense. If those are too expensive, then grind-by-time with a Eureka Specialita. If you will be mixing up beans a

Fiorenzato Allground Sense Grinder - dosing funnel?
I have that grinder and ended up using a dosing cup as I hated getting grounds all over when grinding directly to the port filter. You can find it here. https://www.espressoparts.com/products/fiorenzato-allground-grounds-sense-cup

AMA. I work in a shop selling espresso machines. Ask me anything!
Good question, it depends. Grinders that weigh are generally more accurate in their dosage and independent of the grind size and how full the bean hopper is. However, in order to benefit from the higher accuracy, the output in the cup must be just as precise, which I find difficult. That's why the b

New grinder: Mahlkonig e64ws
The fiorenzato all ground sense has been out for years without major issues. You can access the burr chamber in 10 seconds, no tools needed And it comes with a dosing cup for people who don't want use the portafilter holder. As for the grind adjustment, it's very very accurate due to being stepped

Grinders? I'm totally lost. Need your help choosing one! [1000$]
I would look at the Fiorenzato AllGround Sense, just above your target price, with its grind-by-weight functionality (you store your beans in the grinder's hopper, press a button on the grinder, and it grinds the amount of weight of grounds you've previously input).

Upgrading from an Encore after 8 years: Varia VS6 vs. DF64V Gen 3? Or Neither? [$1000]
As you lean to the light and medium roast, the Niche Zero, as wonderful as it is (albeit priced (somewhat too high?), and currently with a 25% or more (I can't keep up with it) U.S. tariff), would not be my first choice, from what I see here. I might look at the Timemore 064S and 078S, if you haven'

Grinder Help [<= $1000]
Especially as you have some interest in lighter roasts, I might look at the Timemore 064S and 078S, if you haven't, yet (note: updated versions currently are under prototyping, as shown at a recent tradeshow (https://www.reddit.com/r/espresso/comments/1qu0how/timemore_sculptor_gen_2_rumored_features/ (s
