Finally upgraded my coffee corner, and it feels like heaven

I upgraded from Eureka Mignon Silenzio to DF83V. I think it's finally getting seasoned now (two months in). Yes, it tastes better than the Silenzio (much better clarity). I've now taken it apart and run the alignment test on it and was delighted to find that it's perfectly aligned. I'm still not sur

P64 coming in tomorrow what will I notice? Tips?

The frustrating thing about a new grinder is that the burrs need to be "seasoned" (had 5 to 10 lbs of coffee thru them) before you really find out what your burrs taste like. I've just upgraded from a Eureka Mignon Silenzio to a Turin DF83V (I'm in it for 2 weeks now). Do the 83mm DLC burrs taste be

Which one would you pick? (Appartamento vs. Pro 500) [$1600 CAD]

That's hard to answer. I think it's great, but I don't have a niche zero to compare it to. After I seasoned my DF83V for a month, I then compared it to my Eureka Mignon Silenzio (50mm flat burrs). I think it pretty much had the same body but the clarity was better. It kinda surprised me. In comparis

Buying advice grinder sub 1k

I had a Eureka Mignon Silenzio and went to buy a DF83. I did see there are some complaints about its de-clumper and lots of videos about how to clean the chute and the plasma generator. I also didn't like its Wave Spring design... however, I think most of my review of it was before the V2 came out.

What benefits do I get from moving up to a better grinder? Or is a recalibrated Baratza Encore already getting me 99% there? [$500].

I guess the benefits would fall into three categories: drink taste/texture, workflow, and maintenance. Your grinder's contribution the taste and texture of your drink comes from its "profile" of grind sizes (how much in each size region). The grind size distribution can look like a bell curve (tall

Grinder with more "Roundedness" than Timemore 078s [$800/£600]

I would recommend a variable rpm grinder. I recently purchased a DF83V and did some brief testing to see what effect radically changing the rpm would have. I found the (extreme) rpm change gave the "fully-body / clarity" trade-off as has been oft reported. It was quite noticeable, and after enjoying

Which grinder should I get [€1,000]

FWIW, I have a similar workflow, though my WDT is eyeballed. I use a pressure tamp with spring loading, very consistent puck prep. My (old, and new) grinders both set up for single dosing. I found a puck screen made a minor contribution to consistency. I use a vacuum canister for my beans. I went fr
