An experiment…external battery and 12w solar panel

For the past few years I've run a eufy 2k outdoor cam continuous recording (the e220 outdoor) off a 12v deep cycle battery that gets charged off a 50w solar panel. I have a dual battery solar charge controller that splits the solar panel charging between the battery driving my security cameras and s

Looking for recommendations for security cameras that work directly with iCloud.

Given the requirements you have, the Eufy S3 pro seems like a good candidate. I have three of these deployed and the solar battery is great and they work well with homekit secure video.

Eufy Cam 3 w external solar power

The answer to why it doesn’t charge from the solar panel is because it can’t. Unlike the S340 and the new S3 Pro, according (after much persuasion) to eufy and verified by my own testing using a power meter the eufyCam 3 is incapable of receiving a charge from an external solar panel. Well, that’s a

Looking to Purchase

Switched from Ring to Eufy and have been satisfied with the purchase. I use E330 Pros with a HomeBase 3 (4 can kit that comes with a hard drive) and would recommend them or possibly the new S3 Pro cameras. Try going with wired power for as many of the cameras that you can. Don’t think that they have

Best camera for squirrel detection?

The Eufy S3 Pro is a wireless battery powered camera, they rely on PIR sensors to detect, which is the worst kind of detection you can possibly have for a camera. If I were you I'd return that immediately. It is not a matter of brand, it is just battery powered cameras suck, all of them. A Wi-Fi plu

S3 Pro Power Cable?

I got this email from the Ankar Support team today. MY QUESTIONS: I'm now looking to just upgrade to the E330 or S3 Pro for full-time power supply. Will there be a purpose build charging cable for the S3 Pro? I don't see how the S3 Pro could be safely charging without having the usb cable completely

Is anyone happy with their Eufy system?

I recommend the Eufy S3 Pro with Homebase 3, have had it for a few months and have been happy with it. Have it set to optimal surveillance and still holds charge to 100%. Don’t get any nuisance alarms that you would get from a cheaper security cameras (i.e. trees blowing/shade in background. The hom

Proof That S3 Pro DOES Charge Via Solar But App Doesn't Show Solar Charging And Snapshot Function Not Yet Supported

The other caveat here is, the official Eufy solar panel doesn’t call out the S3 camera as a supported model even though it says “compatible with all cameras”: Provides continuous charging for your eufyCam 2, eufyCam 2 Pro, eufyCam 2C, eufyCam 2C Pro, eufyCam S330, and SoloCam S230. There’s this tidb

Looking to invest in a Eufy, but have specific questions on storage

I invested heavily in EUFY and regret it, so much so returned 3 cams, I am stuck with 2 other cams and a HB3. They still work, but I use them in low critical areas, never again. I went for Reolink POE, the difference is night and day, the cams 15 fps vs 25 is something that makes life so much easier
