I need some help deciding

The turntable is good but pass on the speakers. Here’s a good alternative: Turntable: Fluance RT85 = $550Speakers: ELAC Debut 2.0 B6.2 = $330Preamp: Fosi X5 = $110Amp: Fosi ZA3 = $149 Much better setup for about the same price.

What was the biggest turd, "Hi-Fi" system you've ever heard?

Elac Debut 2.0. People were raving about them but to me they sounded muddled and lacking any sort of treble. Instantly hated them. On the upside, it quickly convinced my partner at the time to up the budget to a pair of Harbeth C7-iii with a Rega amp.

Fluance 82 vs 85 vs 85N, what to get if you're new but have some 'treat yo-self' money set aside?

Imo go with the RT85 but pass on the speaker set. Here’s a much better recommendation: Turntable: Fluance RT85 = $550Speakers: Elac debut 2.0 b6.2 = $330Preamp: Fosi Box X1 = $40Amp: Fosi BT20A Pro = $100 Equates to the same price as the turntable and speaker set you are referring to from Fluance. Roast my first-time buyer list

Yes, Yamaha integrated amp, or Onkyo stereo receiver, both add a built in phono preamp, subwoofer output and 5 way binding posts over the basic Yamaha 202. Also better speakers on sale! 5.25" JBL www.crutchfield.com/p_109S620DW/JBL-Studio-620-Dark-Wood.html?tp=186 6.5" ELAC https://www.crutchfield.c

Good first setup?

For $29 more you can get the ELAC debut 2.0 b6.2’s which are better speakers and worth the jump. But you’ll also need an amp regardless of which of those speakers you go with as passive speakers require an external amp, in addition to preamp. Fosi V3 would be a solid choice. Your preamp and turntabl

Kanye Concert Dilema...

if you don't need wireless as a feature. You can check out tower speaker or 6+ inch bookshelf speaker like Elac debut 2.0 6.2. Check out hifimart or avshack. These will sound better than marshalls.

How to choose a DAC , what to look for

What sounds good to me with my equipment and room may sound poorly in your room. As an old guy who lived and repair speakers from the 70-80s none of them compare to my Elac Debut 2.0 B6.5 and matching center speaker. Almost all the old speakers had a very basic cheap crossover. Poor cabinets quality

My Compact Listening Space

Luckily for you, I can definitely answer this question. While I'm currently using the ELAC Debut references, I upgraded from the DB6.2s and am now using the 6.2s with my DAW In another room. I had the 6.2s on the exact speaker stands that I now have the References on. It is definitely 100% worth the

New System Advice

My $.02 on how I'd approach this: Look for a good used 12" powered sub from a good brand like SVS, Rel, Velodyne. (I'd avoid Klipsch here, because some of their older subs had serious problems with the internal amps.) Not the easiest thing to find, but they're out there. This will absolutely make th
