Frustrations with DF64 gen 2
I've had the DF64 gen 2 for a few years (original burrs) and not had any issues with clogging whatsoever. I do spritz the beans before grinding which I feel also helps reduce static/retention, and pump the bellows lightly while grinding to prevent retention from building up. I also pump the bellows

DF54 vs Fellow Opus Gen 2
Df64 gen 2 is the go. Comes with metal cup already. Barely any retention with the bellows. Doesn’t make a mess at all with new electrode setup. No need to spritz beans unless you’re maybe doing pour over grind.

What grinder is everyone using?
Mazzer Philos. It’s fricken amazing. Almost zero retention. Had a DF64 Gen 2 but it clogged all the time.

Sage Smart Grinder Pro vs. DF64 Gen2

DF54 --> Mazzer Philos / Lagom P64? [$1000 USD]
I keep seeing these posts about clogging or static on the 54. I've got a df64 gen 2, do these have similar issues? I haven't noticed any clogging, and the bellows help with reducing retained grounds. Is this an option OP?

Why SHOULDN'T I buy the DF64? [$600]

Factual DF54 report: repeated chute clogging with dark roast espresso
df64 gen 2, same experience and never RDT’ed, I think the RDT is causing unnecessary moisture inside hence the coffeegrounds build-up

Why is the grinder game so stressful…?
I have loved my df64 gen 2 regardless of what everyone else says. No retention no fuss just align the burrs and it’s been a workhorse daily for like 2 years. It’s pretty cheap all things considered.

Timemore 064s still valid? [$480]
If your long-term plan is the Zerno Z1, I’d think of the 064S as a “bridge grinder” rather than a final upgrade. The main question is: what exactly is making you hate the DF64 Gen 2? If it’s workflow, retention, mess, noise, or just the general daily experience, then the 064S may make sense. Timemor

DF54 --> Mazzer Philos / Lagom P64? [$1000 USD]
It's been a few weeks since your post so not sure what you ended up doing, but I felt your pain. I had a similar experience with constant clogging on my DF64 Gen 2 (even with a hot start and slow feeding), and eventually, the frustration just outweighed the cost of upgrading. The last straw was wak
