Recommend a grinder to pair with Profitec Go please

Everyone seems to be saying df64 gen 2 but this comment makes me nervous because I’m not very handy lmao. What do you mean by aligning burrs and setting zero point haha this will be my first expensive grinder 😂

Why is the grinder game so stressful…?

I have loved my df64 gen 2 regardless of what everyone else says. No retention no fuss just align the burrs and it’s been a workhorse daily for like 2 years. It’s pretty cheap all things considered.

Timemore 064s still valid? [$480]

If your long-term plan is the Zerno Z1, I’d think of the 064S as a “bridge grinder” rather than a final upgrade. The main question is: what exactly is making you hate the DF64 Gen 2? If it’s workflow, retention, mess, noise, or just the general daily experience, then the 064S may make sense. Timemor

Recommend a grinder to pair with Profitec Go please

Seconding all the comments for the DF64 Gen 2. I have the Gen 1 and it's great, but it looks like the Gen 2 solves a lot of the QoL issues the gen1 has (long distance between the chute and the dosing cup, for one). The burr alignment thing is dead easy - you can check before turning it on after adju

Looking for my Perfect Machine [$1000]

Baratza encore esp, encore esp pro, and sette 270 are all going to offer the fine adjustment you want with espresso, and potentially come with baratza's very good customer service. The fellow opus gen 2 might be amazing value for the price but it's still an unknown. The varia vs3 is good except for

Stepping in to the espresso world from Moka pots. Got this setup to fit the only counter top space I have left. So happy to finally get to learn how to make my own espresso

That's the df64N, also known as the DF64 gen 2. It has built in ioniser so coffee grounds doesn't fly around as much and get stuck at spout. I transit from a Timemore c2 hand grinder so definitely a huge upgrade. But I took the df64 as there is a lot of parts like burr if you want to upgrade from th

Shall I pull the trigger or invest in an electric?

I would totally go for electric DF64 Gen 2. In fact even for ~20K I'd go for G5 than a manual grinder. I'd only go for a manual as a travel fall-back within 10k. Also, unless you are brewing espresso, it is not easy to differentiate between coffee ground in conical/g5 and flat/DF64.

Zerno Z1 owners, I would like to hear from you [budget <$2,000 USD]

I’m currently running stock DF64 gen 2 burrs, and based on what I’ve learned so far, I would probably opt for the HU burrs on the Zerno. (And for what it’s worth, one of the very appealing qualities of the Zerno, for me, is the fact that one doesn’t seem to need to do much to ensure a good alignment

DF54 vs Fellow Opus Gen 2

I just had my df64 gen 1 die after 3 years of service. The threads bound up and the collar needed to be cut off to salvage the burrs. My roommate has the fellow opus gen 1. I would say that for espresso the fellow opus gen 1 was entirely incapable of anything lighter than a darker medium roast. The
