Why do we target Windows Software but not Mac Software

even before the M chips, which are really top tier, Macbooks were head and shoulders above pretty much every Windows laptop maker out there. Dell XPS line comes close, but it's still not quite there. and the trackpad is the best in the business and it's honestly not even close. Having recently moved

What kind of computer applications are used for engineering? Should I ditch my Mac?

Check out the College of Engineering laptop recommendations, they typically give the best advice for new students looking at computers I’m CCE, but for me a Dell XPS has been goated for both school and personal uses

Linus Tech Tips - I Should Have Invested MORE in Framework April 21, 2026 at 11:00AM

I had a Dell XPS I had to repair a bunch (charge port died repeatedly, keyboard died) and it was miserable buying salvaged or 3rd party parts and disassembling the bloody thing without breaking it. Then a plastic tab connecting the hinge to the chassis snapped and... you could just never close the l

ASUS Zenbook A16 with top end Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme (X2E-96-100) now available for $1999.99

Surface are overprice and overated, far from a Dell XPS, a Zenbook S-seriee, a Thinkbook X ai or even a Thinkpad Carbon.. People who can preach Samsung or Surface never had a good laptop in their hands

Laptop recommendation

I think you should get a Dell XPS 15 or 14 with at least 16GB RAM and an SSD, they’re reliable for coding and will last through your degree.

Apple’s new CEO has a bachelor’s degree in….Mechanical Engineering

Dell XPS line is in a totally different price bracket though, it's going to cost 2x a Macbook Neo. Great laptop if you can afford it though. Same honestly holds for framework.

looking for other models with 32gb ram

i was comparing 32gb dells last month. besides the dc16256, check out the dell xps 15 or precision 3480. xps has better build quality and oled option. precision has isv certification if you do cad work. also look at latitude 5540 configured with 32gb - those are easier to find refurbished. all three

Should I buy a refurbished Dell XPS 15 9530?

At that price, even in the US where things are cheaper that seems like a pretty good deal. I have owned two of the Precision 5570 (one is now my daughter's machine, and I picked up a used one this summer as a spare for my 5680) and have been very pleased with them. That's the Precision version of th

I desperately need a good reliable laptop (No Apple)

If you're an art major I might consider something like the Surface Pro. With the keyboard case it's a pretty good laptop that's also a pretty decent art tablet with the Surface Pen. That's if your art is drawing and that sort of thing. If you're looking for a laptop that will render video and 3D mod
