Same problem across several generations of relatively high end machine because they cheaped out on the construction

Yeah XPS never again. I have got one in 2017 XPS 15 battery went bust 3 years later with Dell stopped producing the battery so the only replacement was with Chinese cheap knock offs. Buy a nice Thinkpad, that will last, battery takes 30 minutes to change and plenty of spare parts around.
