Best starter espresso machine [$500]
The grinder matters more than the machine, and you should budget a decent amount for that too. You also will likely need to budget $100-150 or so for accessories like a scale, decent tamper, distribution tools, and in some cases a nicer portafilter and basket. Some recommended combos: De’Longhi Stil

Breville bambino [$300] vs many other espresso machines in [$100-$150]
Do some research on the difference between pressurized and non-pressurized espresso extraction. Less expensive machines like the ones you mentioned brew pressurized. This allows them to work with pre-ground coffee. However, pressurized brewing puts a low ceiling on the quality of espresso produced.

My first Espresso Machine! Any suggestions for improvements?
So I just started my espresso journey about a month ago, absolute total noob. Here's a list of a few things I picked up: A handgrinder until the actual grinder I ordered capable of doing espresso got here (it's on backorder). I went with a KINGrinder. I keep telling myself I'm working off the calori

Budget is not a problem, but I can’t find an option better than Bambino, why?
The only machine in my humble opinion that will give you good quality espresso at under $100 is the De’Longhi Stilosa which has a heat up of about 30 seconds. It’s very basic, but gets excellent espresso. Lance Hedrick did a video on it. I found it by chance on OfferUp new for $28 and it is now my e

Are there any bean-to-cup espresso machines that do puck-prep?
At least one that can brew specialty coffee reasonably? Sorry, but no. Even those top-of-the-line Jura machines costing thousands of dollars use pressurized brewing systems with no puck prep. A DeLonghi Stilosa for $100 will make equally good espresso, and can make even better espresso than any supe

I am really frustrated
Boy I do understand although I've been a little luckier. I was totally flummoxed when I got started about five weeks ago. I'd get one pretty good pull, then the next one would be a disaster. But I'm finally (just in the last week) doing pretty well and consistently. I routinely drink at least one of

Which Espresso machine should I buy?
Between these two, the DeLonghi one is gonna have better rep than the Vantro; and possibly more parts and long term reliability/support. However, I'd say get the Delonghi Stilosa EC230 instead, it's 15999 INR currently. It's a boiler design vs the thermoblock EC685, (meaning it'll take longer to hea

Look what you guys made me do
If your shots are sour then you're not running a long enough ratio. If you're doing a 1:2, then try extending that to a 1:2.5. But, if you're generally running ratios 1:2.5 or larger then you probably are dealing with a roast on the lighter side of things. IMS Flat/Convex baskets tend to do better w
