I use GB with a Huawei band 8 and a Colmi Ring R09, they work without fuss. I've never installed any vendor app. The list of supported HW is quite extensive, with varied levels of support. And some devices still need the vendor app at least once. Choose your device carefuly, this is clearly explaine

Which band did you get - interested to try one. Already have a Colmi ring and the data displayed on the stock band app looks to be very similar to what i get feom the ring. But for 23€, worth a go.
