That’s how I feel about buying dark berry lipsticks. They’re usually some form of pink when I’m wanting more of a burgundy. The exception would be Clinique’s Black Honey, but it’s meant to be subtle.

It's extra confusing to me too, because I still see "real" lipstick everywhere - Sephora, Walgreens, Target, Ulta, etc. In my experience if there's a cosmetics section, there's going to be a lot of lipstick in it. Clinique Black Honey Almost Lipstick I know it's overpriced and there is barely any product in the tube. But for me it's undupeable (I've tried) and goes with any and every look, even if the look is just sunblock and lippie.

If your MIL likes the Cherry Nivea Lip Balm, I definitely second Clinique's Almost Lipstick! I used to use the former in Blackberry because it was a dupe of Clinique's Black Honey, I think that for the Cherry one that seems a bit more pink, Pink Honey would be better. And I think she'd like it a lot
