How do you get a solid red lip?
Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink. Super pigmented, does not move. "Exhilarator" is probably the closest colour to what you have linked. Though if you want a shine, you may need to add a gloss on top.

How can I improve my day to day make up routine
I feel like the lip blends too much into the rest of your face. Even a little bit more of a color and a lip liner would make a difference. The Nyx Butter Gloss has some really nice neutral colors, and the Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink are also nice colors if you want a matte instead.

What makeup product did you stop buying because the cheaper version worked better?
swapped out nars air matte lip tint for maybelline super stay matte ink. it actually does stay on through me eating three meals / brushing my teeth. finish is the same for both

Where can I find an AFFORDABLE, matte, PIGMENTED black liquid lipstick that actually dries down?
It’s about $13, so over your range a tad, but Maybelline’s SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick has a black, Thrill Seeker that I really enjoy. Wore this formula (different color) for my wedding and it did not budge.
