Almost Lipstick Tinted Lip Balm

Yeah, that’s what I had to do. I was new to wearing any lip color and even the Clinique almost lipstick in black honey was jarring. I look back and I have a chuckle but I’m happy wearing lipstick now. Well, more lipstain with gloss/balm over ᵕ̈

I didn’t get the Lancôme Lip Idole either. They subbed it with another Clinique black honey. Black honey always turns bright purple on me so I’ll donate them to the women’s shelter. At least they made some effort to sub instead of just leaving it out like usual.

Clarins black honey almost lipstick. It's definitely not a universal shade :/ it looks like dried up blood on my lips. I don't think it's made for people with fair neutral undertones. It looks good on darker skintones though so it's definitely consumer error on my side. Edit: Clinique not Clarins.

I love the Covergirl lip balm dupe of the Clinique Black Honey Almost Lipstick as it’s more hydrating and applies more evenly on me than the Clinique version; however, I love the Clinique lip gloss in Black Honey for it’s reddish brown shade and intense glassy effect.

I get a very similar look using the Clinique black honey ! I just wish it lasted longer

I am not an expert but i echo the comments about technique. That being said, I have found certain products that help me achieve a similar look with little effort. Clinique Black Honey dried my lips out so much they were cracked and painful. I've used sand less drying than this stuff.
