Is Apple ProRes actually worth the file size?
Before addressing your actual question, your premise is off: > Since we mostly have outdated cameras anyway (Canon EOS R 2019)I don't know if it's the gear treadmill or just a misconception from someone new to the work but a Full-Frame Mirrorless system is not what should be classified as outdated.

absolutely necessary equipment
I’d definitely suggest a mirrorless with a dual card slot. Having a back-up SD card slot is crucial for professional longevity. However, there are plenty of 5D IV body’s on the market that are perfectly useable. They may not be mirrorless, but they’re dual card and have the or very similar specs as

What camera equipment would be great for a macro photography beginner?
Olympus micro four-thirds could be a better budget setup, despite having a smaller 4/3" (2x crop) sensor, because a smaller sensor and shorter lens gives you greater DoF, and Olympus was the first to market with not just in-camera focus bracketing, but also in-camera processing for focus stacking, f

Ace Pro 2 Overheats after 45ish minutes of 8K continuous use
8K requires load of work and data to be captured, processed, and written. This does generate lots of heat. Even Mirrorless Cameras and DSLs overheat at 8K and they have more space to shunt the heat about with heat pipes. The Canon EOS R5 would shut off quicker than this and needed various options to

Help me buy!
Assuming this is your first non-smartphone camera, my only advice is consider how big/conspicuous you want your camera and lens to be. The a7 bodies are all pretty small and compact, but full frame lenses may not be, particularly the faster and higher grade you go. A 70-200/2.8 makes any camera big.

Upgrading my Camera
If you want to stick with DSLR and mirrorless without going to a dedicated astro cam (even if it costs $500, with all accessories add 300$ for good measure). I recommend a modified Canon 6D which goes for about your budget. However, the 135mm on full frame is very, very wide for a lot of targets. It

Is this a good camera for a beginner?
Just me, if you want to light with off-camera flash, I’d avoid the following models with a borked hotshoe: the 2000D (T7), 4000D (T100), 250D (SL3), R50, and R50V (also Powershot V1, but that’s not a likely choice for a stills shooter). On the dSLR bodies I listed, the big central sync contact is mi

I like Nikon
I’m talking about mirrorless analogs. https://photographylife.com/nikon-mirrorless-cameras https://www.canon.ca/dam/Campaigns/EOS-R5-Launch/EOS_R_System_Full_Frame_EN.pdf So I believe you’re talking about specific lightweight camera like r8, right? Then it comes with some drawbacks like missing ibis and

Which camera ecosystem would you buy into tomorrow if you were starting fresh?
I recently went full-frame mirrorless (EOS R) from an APS-C DSLR (EOS 7D). The used EOS R body came with one of Canon’s EF-RF adapters, which was a big consideration in the purchase. All of my EF glass works flawlessly on the R with adapter. I’m not getting rid of the 7D body, it still works great a
