Personally, I would get the R6 MK II in your scenario. The EOS R is, as you noted, basically the same camera as your 5D MK IV but with slightly better AF and only one card slot. The R6 MK II will give you a second card slot, vastly superior AF, and IBIS. The body is about the same size as the R btw.

What you're saying here doesn't make a lot of sense. The first Canon mirrorless (the EOS R) was the literal exact same sensor and Digic chip as the 5D Mark IV. Once the mirror comes up and the sensor gets exposed to actually take the photo there is no difference at all between a DSLR and a mirrorles

Hey AnythingForRiceUni, As much as I love classic street photography and documentary photography shot in big cities, I've always been a big fan of photography done in other places. To me, Street Photography doesn't have to be in the center of New York, LA, etc..... Check out Stephen Dirado's work. H

I'm open to mirrorless but there's too much information online for me to know which is best. For real, it took almost 3 weeks to decide on camera(s) to purchase for our projects within our budget and skill level (absolute beginner lol). With your budget, I'd look at the EOS R8 Body. Pick yourself an

I would rather have an APS-C with good features than the RP any day. The sensor will even outperform it. It has one of the worst FF sensors of all time, in the mirrorless world it's the worst FF sensor. Not only its features are crippled, but that dynamic range was inexcusable the moment it came out

If I will need to push the shadows at low ISO, RAW. Else CRAW. Sample with the maze pattern https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/EOS-DSLR-Mirrorless-Cameras/Noise-on-EOS-R8-Image/m-p/454431/highlight/true#M109745

When I made the switch from 20+ years of DSLR’s to mirrorless, I made the conscious decision to rent gear for a while, as I had been in the Canon EOS ecosystem since its inception, and I wanted to see what other manufacturers had to offer. I’m a hobbyist, not a professional, so I took my time, and a

I do not think it is possible with your budget if you want a full frame mirrorless body and 3 lenses. If you limit yourself to a 24-70mm f2.8 lens and pro body that is an option. Pro body with dual card slots (R6 series) used/canon refurbished: R6 (original) $1k-$1.3K used R6 II $2k new, $1699 canon

He's not wrong, the 1 inch sensor plus DCG combo let's it go toe to toe with a full frame mirrorless, here's a direct comparison against a Canon EOS R5 https://youtu.be/yf_aWH0sjpk?si=HrR4aGtYvPvo4mk4 Raw video too so zero post processing applied, Source footage is available too for download as proo

I shoot mostly in studio. I moved from Nikon DSLR’s to Canon mirrorless with the EOS R, then upgraded to the R5. Missed the handling of a Dslr and added a 5DSr. Loved it so much I bought the 5D mark II. I now use the 5D Mark II and 5DSr most of the time. I’m thinking about a 5D Mark IV myself. My R5
