Canon’s new FX3 competitor…the R50C: 7K internal raw & open gate recording.
Even though I doubt such a small package can fit something like this, just imagine if this thing turns out to have internal NDs. The RF mount can certainly handle it, as shown on the C70, C80, and C400, which all have internal NDs on the same mount. I recall seeing a patent filing suggesting they we

Double down on Canon while moving to interview filming from photography?
I would say yes. We have a Canon R5C, C50, and two C80's and they are great cameras. I know this sub is pretty "Sony" heavy, but there is nothing wrong with Canon Cinema cameras. Those lenses would be just fine for what you want to do. My advice is, though, to think less about a 3 camera setup and m

Switching from Canon to Sony - yes or no?
Both systems are fine now a days. But As a canon R6 mk2 owner, the wide angle wobble really sucks. The Mk3 has the same problem. This is my only issue with the canon cameras. So If you do choose canon I would recommend the canon Cinema line instead. C50 or R5c are both solid in my opinion. New lense

Anyone able to tell what kind of set up this is from this low res pic?
I've got more or less this same setup - the C200 (a couple of them) with the Canon 18-80. Beautiful lens, though it's only S35, and I wish the zoom motor on the side was completely removable for when it's not being used. The C200 still takes a beautiful image, although you do have to shoot it in raw

Time to get an upgrade. Struggling to find a hybrid cameras (r5c or r5ii)
I have an R5C and can’t recommend it enough. I find myself preferring it over my C70’s and R6’s just because it’s a true hybrid. It’s not a video camera with photo tacked on. Or vice versa. I have a handful of the canon batteries and those last about 1 hour each continuously But I also have small ri

Torn Between R5C and C50
If it makes the decision harder or easier, I get around 65-75 mins on the R5C with the new LP-E6P battery in 4k 24, in Raw LT that drops to 45 mins. so my fix is often to use it with a battery grip and 2x batteries so I can get up to 120-130 mins of 4k24. If you're REALLY hung up on battery life, yo

Switching from Canon after some frustration: Need advice and experiences!
I would say, stick to Canon. Move to R5 insted of R6. R5 is a beast. Also, I would say Canon has limited lens options but Quality is on the top. I shoot weddings and events majorly in Chennai,India. I started exploring with 70D then moved to EOS R in 2020 and got an R5c in 2023. I've 28-70 f2 and Sa

What alternatives are there to Calf V1 for professional shooting?
Calf1 is a re-branded Realia camera. ViewPT company is the developer of both. Calf Visinse cam design wasn't handled by ViewPT (it was a cost-cutting hack done by other third party commissioned by Calf distributor). ViewPT for a while was advertising that they were working on a new Realia2 model wit

Can you see another brand releasing a camera that would breakSony’s stranglehold?
I think this applies more to the videographer / prosumer market. (I work for a large camera retail chain in EU) For single video shooters, yes Sony is super popular for good reasons (autofocus, low light, S-Log3 10-bit and good 4K slomo) In the film and commercial world and rentals it’s Arri, Red an

The Power of Color Grading
Things have slowed down but not that much. With Canon pushing out the new r6mkiii even after the mk2 was just out shows there is a market in which consumers want different things. I guess it’s all based on your needs. Even in the cinema line, when the r5c was out, it was (and still is) a great camer
