My current journey with VR180

It was very nice of you to share your story but there's some things that you really should know. First I'm a professional that's been shooting VR for the last 13 years in the media business for 40 and shooting at the R5 and r5c for the last almost 4 years. I tested and rejected the R5 because it ove

Wedding photographer looking to add video (Canon ecosystem?) – R6 Mark II or switching brands

Some thoughts as a full time videographer who has shot weddings in the past: I have the r6 mk3. I do not recommend it as a video-only camera. I bought it to be my hybrid body to complement my c70. If you want a video-focused body within the canon ecosystem, your only decent opinions are R5C, C70, C8

Canon’s new FX3 competitor…the R50C: 7K internal raw & open gate recording.

I honestly think this will be an important selling point. Canon has yet to really have a standard DSLR sized cinema camera that was designed for rigging. The R5C seems like a great entry cinema camera, but the fact it kept the R5 body shape meant it really wasn't designed for rigging like the FX3 is

Should I keep R5C or return?

I think IBIS is very important for stills. I would not want to lose out on it. Now that Canon has updated the firmware on the R5 to eliminate the overheating, a big drive for the R5C is gone, so I would not consider it a significant upgrade over the R5

Is underwater photography having a moment right now?

Underwater photography is amazing. I have been using a Canon R5C underwater with big animals (sharks, whales, etc) for a few years now and it is beautiful and truly life altering!

Switching from Canon after some frustration: Need advice and experiences!

I would say, stick to Canon. Move to R5 insted of R6. R5 is a beast. Also, I would say Canon has limited lens options but Quality is on the top. I shoot weddings and events majorly in Chennai,India. I started exploring with 70D then moved to EOS R in 2020 and got an R5c in 2023. I've 28-70 f2 and Sa

Equipment for recording live in heated studio

What’s your budget? 40% humidity is not bad at all, but for that temp I’d consider a camera with a built-in cooling fan, i.e. Canon R5C or Sony FX30/FX3

Is the C500 mkII still relevant?

I was an early R5C adopter, then I picked up the C70. But the C500 mk2 at current prices new is such a good deal. It seems Canon backed off using the C700 sensor (same as C500 mk2) in the C400 and C80. Not sure why, but for my use cases, the C500 mk2 for sale at 70% of original MSRP is a no brainer.

Wedding photographer looking to add video (Canon ecosystem?) – R6 Mark II or switching brands

Sony as video king might be a little missinformed, but i say Lumix has the best video capabilities from all brands. Im worried about Canon's overheating in video mode, and also sony's as most models as a7v, a7iv, r6ii and r6iii has no internal fan, just passive cooling. If you want canon or sony for
