Just hello

Hi all. For some time now I like to take "artistic" photos with my mobile. Someone from my family boigh canon eos r100 recently. I habe unlimited Access to it and although I know it's a cheap, not fancy camera I am eager to try it in a city. I thought it would be nice to find a community where I can

Is it worth going with the EOS R50 over the EOS R100?

I would never really recommend buying a camera for the brand - sometimes, if you are already invested in a camera system (sometimes brands have multiple systems, sometimes systems have multiple brands, but often system and brand are one and the same). Canon is a good brand, but they aren't any bette

What is the best canon camera for photobooth?

The R100 is the go to. Decent quality at a decent price. If you think you might do some slow-mo gigs, you can go for the R50, but with the R50 you will also need an adapter to use non Canon flashes.

Podcast camera?

I build podcast studios for a living and almost always end up speccing Canon R100 kits with an ATEM Mini ISO or Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera bodies with fancier 4k gear (hyperdecks, ATEM TV studios, etc) The R100 has been a shockingly nice option. It's a very basic camera, but it puts out a nice i

? Help for first camera purchase?

It's the go-to body for wildlife with Canon shooters. The reach of an APS-C sensor, weather sealing, 2 cards etc. Combine it with the RF 100-400 for ~600 and you're good; there are many threads on Reddit from people with that setup who are more than happy with it. If money is a concern, though, and

Hot damn I love watching a thunderstorm roll in

My camera, a Canon EOS R100. It's real basic but it shoots nice lapses! This setting takes a shot every 3 seconds, the longest I've been able to do so far takes right at an hour to shoot and produces a 24 second video.

Which camera is best to start learning photography under $800?

If you're considering Canon, go for R50 instead of the R100. It's a much better camera. Many compromises were made with the R100 to reach the low price. R50 + 18-45mm kit lens is $699 currently at B&H Photo.

Looking for a budget camera for a short film. Panasonic G85?

I've been making movies for years but they're never seen by anyone other than friends and family. I'm fairly advanced on the post-production side of things but not as much on the filming aspect. I've been using a Canon camcorder for almost 8 years and it's done what it's needed to, but I'm hoping fo

I want to get into photography. Zero experience. Is the EOS R100 truly a good starter camera for someone like me?

you get what you pay for R100 is so stripped down of various features, lots of folks want to upgrade, very quickly you can get the R50 with kit lens from Canon USA Refurbished for $660. Canon gives a full manufacturers warranty. Their refurbished items are basically 'open box' stuff.
