What’s the best bang for your buck: espresso machines [2024]

used gaggia classic pro is prob the best bang for buck imo. built like a tank, easy to mod later if u get obsessed, and holds resale value. paired with a decent grinder it’ll easily give you real espresso without spending breville dual boiler money. for something simpler, the breville bambino or bam

Upgrading from Bambino Plus: Need a machine that won't "give up" during back-to-back milk drinks [Budget $1500]

You probably want a dual boiler and your budget is right at the starting point of those. Look at the Breville Dual Boiler and the Lelit Elizabeth.

5AM COFFEE?

Yeah, middle of the road Breville dual boiler units are going to pay for themselves in a few years.

Which espresso machine represents the point of diminishing return for you?

Breville Dual Boiler. 58mm. PID. Temp control. Decent Pressure gauge. If you get clever with the preinfusion settings you can have a ton of control of pressure etc. Probably not the sexiest choice but serious bang for the buck.

Any reason to pick Profitec Move over the Breville Dual Boiler? [2000€]

The end result will probably be more or less the same, drink-wise. The Breville is good value with lots of features with a great user community for mods and what not. I started looking for an upgrade about a month ago for my aging (but perfectly functioning and nearly 10-year old) Breville Duo Temp

Fellow Series 1 photos @ Houston SCA coffee show

I think the people commenting on the plastic are forgetting that this machine's only real competitor from a price and features standpoint is the Breville Dual Boiler, which is also all plastic. Even something like the Rancilio Silvia Pro X is $500 more than this machine. We'll see how this thing hol

This or that? Comparing Breville espresso machines

The letdown here is that Breville doesn't offer an otherwise advanced unit w/o a built in grinder. I find Breville grinders to be where costs are cut the most. They feel and sound cheap, and in my experience grind inconsistently. Now I have a DF54 and it's been a rock solid performer with my Bambino

Convince me not to get the Cafelat Robot! [$500]

I have a breville dual boiler, however I haven't used it since I got the Robot... I initially got it as a fun toy, but since it's easier to use + tastes better, I stopped using my actually expensive machine for espresso. I still use it for steaming milk occasionally, but the Robot is just that good.

Is the Breville dual boiler and DF54 combo good for a newbie [$1200]

The BDB is no slouch. It's way beyond entry-level espresso making. That machine regularly retails for very roughly the equivalent of $3000 AUD outside of Australia and is still considered a good deal and good buy at that price. That's more than 3x what you're paying! For what you get, if you're seri

Fellow’s First Espresso Machine Will Look Great on Your Counter—And Its Coffee Is Even Better

Hmm, going to wait on the full press release, but I think the boiler -> thermal block design is genius, and is something that more manufacturers should copy. My first reaction is that this could end up replacing the Breville Dual Boiler in the niche of "more features but sacrifice repairability" seg
