Unexpected impulse purchase: HDB 630
I probably would’ve gone with the B&W PX8 S2 for Bluetooth lossless. Your phone also must support aptX Lossless to be able to use it with headphones. Not so many phones support it, especially among the more popular lines. All other codecs are on par with what the HDB 630 provides without a dongle (B

How to get the most from Px8 S2?
For iPhone the best dongle is questyle qcc pro and sen should work on iPhone fine. it essentially uses aptx lossless and aptx adaptive better Bluetooth codec compatible with the headphones. More bitrate transfer over Bluetooth, aptx lossless isn’t hi res which is 24 bit instead this can be used with

Who are B&W buyers typically?
Na, us regular average low-mid income folk like music to sound good too!! I have the Px8 S2’s. Wireless codecs have really gotten better that’s for sure. I still like my OPPO-M3’s (wired) but the wireless B&W’s are really convenient.

PX7 S3 sound better than PX8 S2
Really interesting to hear it from your side. I was reading this review https://www.avforums.com/reviews/bowers-wilkins-px8s2-wireless-headphone-review.22974/ Since you talked about bass, he also did and said this. "What is telling is that each time I did this, I would select the Px7S3 first, think

My take on PX8 S2 vs Focal Bathys MG, B&O H100, Dali IO-12 + EQ Fix!
Yeah, B&W seems to have that 'warm tuning' that results in muddled bass in music like Gojira and harder rock / metal. I've largely found the EQ settings I shared help with that. I loved both H100 and IO-12's but one is too expensive and the other too impractical. My wired Beyerdynamics DT990 Pro I u

Should I buy PX7 S3 or PX8?
I don't know if you already made your decision, but I own the PX8 and they are great. The sound is excellent and warm. It made me want to listen to old songs all over again. And the DAC mode is amazing when connected with USB C device (MacBook Pro, Samsung Galaxy Fold 6 & iPhone 15 wired wired have

Low Volume PX8 S2 + S26 Ultra
Yes, that's normal. Connected by Bluetooth the headphones AMP does the job, via cable its the phone's AMP, which is just not powerful enough. You can probably hear some (but not much) improvement if headphones plugged into external AMP/DAC via cable, if you use your headphones at the computer desk.

Apple Airpods Max vs B&W PX8 S2 for an iPhone user
I tried APM, px7 s3, px8, and px8 s2 back in December. I personally hated the APM, they were not comfortable for me, and the sound was great in certain genres with bass but noticeably worse for genres that are more full and balanced. ANC was better on the APM, but that shouldn't be a surprise as the

I will compare PX8, PX8S2, and Pi8 against everything.
So, PX8 S2 are better than Bathys and PX8: more brightness, better ANC, smaller size, better codecs, and new technology. Comparing to Bathys MG, I prefer Bathys MG. They are better in all aspects. Let me describe both. Focal Bathys MG: Balanced, spacious, and detailed. It prioritizes clarity, layeri

How to get the most from Px8 S2?
Using a lossless BT USB-C transmitter / dongle allows you to take advantage of your headphones higher BT codecs. It's entirely optional, you may or may not perceive improved sound—Px8 S2 works perfectly with Apple AAC—and there's the additional expense and inconvenience of a dongle attached to your
